Thrill to the sight of a hideous, rotting-fleshed monster shambling about the landscape – and don’t forget all the zombies he’s fighting! (Get it? That first one referred to Deadpool. Who says zombie horror comics can’t have a little humor?) Now prepare yourselves for one of Deadpool’s darkest tales ever – You’ve been warned, my zombie loving friends! So ring the dinner bell and nail shut the door as Deadpool takes on the Walking Dead!

Story/Spoilers
In part #1, Deadpool wakes from a self-induced food coma in a locked up Mexican restaurant. He finds a note left by the owner that they tried to wake him up but were not able to, so they locked the doors to hopefully keep the zombies out. Deadpool leaves the restaurant and the streets are bare. He starts to reminisce about how there were signs of strange occurrences before his few days of unconsciousness, like people who were reported dead being seen walking around. Deadpool is hungry after being out several days so he heads off towards another restaurant and encounters a single zombie. This one begs Deadpool to kill him, which kills the buzz Deadpool knows that he should be having from playing zombie-killing video games. The gunshot brings a horde of undead and Deadpool looks as though he may be overwhelmed when he meets up with a technical crewed by group of survivors that mow down the zombies with an attached machine gun. They are making their way back to their wounded comrade’s SWAT outfit and offer Deadpool a ride. Deadpool asks about the other heroes, and they tell him as far as they know he is the only one left, as the technical passes an alley with a blood-splattered Captain America’s shield lying in it.

Next in part #2, Deadpool, Radcliff, Granny, the two kids and the bitten soldier arrive at the SWAT barricade only to find that it has been overrun. Deadpool announces that since they believe he is the only super-hero left it is his duty to search for survivors. Radcliff and the kids want to accompany Deadpool, leaving Granny and the bitten soldier back at the vehicle, until Deadpool declares “Fu*k this! Too many zombies!” and retreat back to the vehicle. Meanwhile, the bitten soldier has turned into a zombie and bites off Granny’s nose. Deadpool removes both of them from the vehicle and uses it to plow through the undead. Several weeks pass while Deadpool, Radcliff and the kids unsuccessfully search for a place to hole up. After eight weeks and they are low on food, Deadpool, Radcliff and the kids find themselves in the woods near a cemetery. That night, while Deadpool is dreaming of Betty and Veronica, Radcliff interrupts his dream to tell him the kids are missing. As they search, Deadpool mentions to Radcliff he didn’t notice the cemetery earlier. Radcliff says he saw it, but figured it was safe as the virus only affects the recently dead. Deadpool is concerned that the ground is recently disturbed and that viruses can mutate. They hear the kid’s voices telling them that they wanted to surprise them with breakfast. The kids got hungry and went to look for food. Deadpool is heartbroken to learn that the graveyard dead have indeed risen and made the children into zombies. The two kids tear Radcliff with their mouths open leading Deadpool to criticize their eating habits. “These kids aren’t the kids I knew. They had manners!” Deadpool admits to them before dispatching them that he had kind of thought of them as family. Deadpool’s costume is torn while putting down the undead and he is scratched. Deadpool makes his way alone to West Virginia on foot. He spies a community that has some protection from the river and barricades across the bridge. While he is looking through the binoculars, a group of mostly old women with a few young ones interrupt him and announce their intention to murder every person within the community.

Next in part #3, Deadpool slaughters the church ladies to prevent them from sacking the town. When he enters the town, a group of kids tell him that he isn’t the last super-hero and lead him to where the man named Clarence keeps his costume. It turns out Clarence was a member of A.I.M. Clarence informs Deadpool that A.I.M. was responsible for the zombie outbreak. They were trying to research regenerative capabilities, and to that end, they collected blood samples from metas with a healing factor including Deadpool. That night, Deadpool’s conscience is troubling him and he keeps mumbling in his sleep that the end of the world wasn’t his fault. He dreams that he turns into a zombie and ravages the town. He protests while he is doing the killing that he can’t be a zombie because his healing factor will protect him from being infected. When Deadpool realizes that he’s not dreaming, he vomits.

Finally in part #4, After Deadpool turns Clarence into a zombie, he severs his head so that he can lead him back to the research lab and they can work up a cure. But by the time they arrive, Clarence’s jaw liquefies so he can’t help develop a cure. Deadpool decides to imbibe mass quantities of the healing factor serum the scientists were developing so that he can go out in a blaze of zombie-killing glory as their seemingly endless waves wash over him and devour him alive. What actually happens to the zombies that take a bite out of Deadpool is that they lose their desire for human flesh and become a single collective consciousness for Deadpool.
