Prepare to return to the epic universe of Jaegers and Kaiju with “Pacific Rim Aftermath”. Legendary presents the official comic book prequel to the highly anticipated, new film “Pacific Rim: Uprising”, which hit theaters on March 2018.

Set against this gritty backdrop of street gangs, Kaiju worshippers and Jaeger scrapyards, fan favorite Hannibal Chau shockingly returns with a dangerous new agenda. Meanwhile, Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, arrives in the aftermath searching for answers behind the death of his legendary father.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Santa Monica, 2034. In a city that was once the jewel of the west coast, a new world has emerged: one rising up from the ashes of giant robots and giant monsters. In this futuristic aftermath, we will meet a new generation of survivors, including Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, who is searching for answers behind the death of his Legendary father; Griffin, a Jaeger pilot who has gone from using his skills to defend the world to piloting an illegal Jaeger enforcer for a mob boss; and the Mech Czar, a techno-criminal overlord who rules the underworld with a steel fist. Set against a neo-noir backdrop of street gangs, Kaiju worshipers, and Jaeger Scrapyards, a mysterious but familiar figure arrives with a dangerous agenda

Next in issue #2, As tensions rise in this aftermath city, disgraced pilot Griffin has an explosive reunion in a Jaeger scrapyard; a dangerous figure from the past encounters the mysterious Sisters of the Kaiju; and Jake Pentecost takes one step closer to unlocking the key to his father’s past.

Next in issue #3, New Jaegers rise up from the wreckage of the scrapyards as local crime lords turn humanity’s saviors into street enforcers. As factions vie for control of the underworld, new threats emerge. Jake continues to explore the drift and his father’s life, opening old wounds and inflicting new ones as he faces the Pentecost legacy! Jake uses the drift to witness his father’s battle with a category 2 Kaiju.

Next in issue #4, Griffin learns more about the Cult of the Kaiju as a new threat emerges from the wreckage of the Santa Monica slums! Jake revisits painful memories of favoritism and competition with his step-sister. The drift begins collapsing.

Next in issue #5, The junkyard Jaeger Enforcer comes face to face with an unexpected antagonist as war comes to the Santa Monica Slums! It’s up to Griffin to call upon his skills as a Jaeger pilot to defend the city and earn a final chance at redemption. Jake now explores the memories of his father’s last drift partner.

Finally in issue #6, All hell breaks loose in the Santa Monica Slums as new monsters and new heroes clash for supremacy. Will Griffin, the Mech Czar, and Chau survive? Jake meets his father inside the drift, but the answers he gets are not what he expects…
