Description
Pinky and the Brain #16: Verminator 2 Comic
It’s the “Terminator 2” parody issue featuring a Terminator cover and story starring Pinky and the Brain. Awesome!!
Writers: Dana Kurtin & Jesse Leon McCann
Artists: Walter Carzon & Mike DeCarlo
Letterer: John Constanza
Colorist: Prismacolor
Editors: Robert Graff, Constance Baldwin & Peter Tumminello
Cover by: Walter Carzon
Taken from the successful cartoon show Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain are two lab mice. One was given a vast intellect and the other is insane, and the comic continues the plot of the cartoon, with Brain trying to take over the world. This has a much more subtle humor than its sister title Animaniacs, which makes it better suited to a comic medium.
Although the Animaniacs are aimed squarely at the pre-teen crowd, their occasional co-stars Pinky and the Brain have a more devilishly adult sensibility. Pinky is a punked-out goofball of a mouse, but his partner, the Brain has a definite goal for life: to take over the world. To that end, he puts his incredible brain power to work to launch scheme after scheme. He’s a megalomaniac, but sort of endearing in his own way.
Story/Spoilers
In the future, Brain has successfully conquered the known world and science is flourishing underneath his guidance. However, there is one who resents his rise to power. Hating Brain, they send back a robotic assassin to murder him in his youth. The Brain, being aware of what happened, also sends back in time his own robot, the “Verminator”, to protect his past self. The two robots clash in a titanic battle with Pinky and Brain caught in the middle of it. Brain’s Verminator eventually overcomes his opponent and disappears from reality, having completed his mission. Pinky and Brain are left wondering what happened, and then begin creating plans for another world domination attempt the next night.
