Marvel’s Punisher is one of the most popular targets of spoofmakers. There’s something about a hopelessly grim guy on a mission of vengeance with lots of guns that seems to beg for a humorous rewrite. Parody Press! turns in one of the funnier Punisher send-ups with their Pummeler one-shot. They take on all the great Punisher clichés, from the origin story which is relived ad nauseum in flashbacks to the ridiculous extremes to which he goes to ensure security of his safehouses, among other wild stories.

Pummler contains:
“The Pummeler Bore Journal”    8 pages
Writer: Mike Baron
Artist: Sam Argo

The Pummeler, otherwise known as Phrank, is a straight white male living a liberal city. He is hunting down a new gang leader called the “Rabbit”, wreaking havoc in the streets as he goes. He learns the Rabbit’s whereabouts from a woman. After defeating the Rabbit’s right hand man, he discovers that the man in question is actually a Jewish rabbi. After using racial slurs against the Jew, the social justice police arrive and arrest the Pummeler at gunpoint. He is taken to rehab.
