King of modern comic horror, Steve Niles (30 Days of Night, Dark Days, Criminal Macabre: A Cal McDonald Mystery) returns to the genre with this tale of a post–apocalypse America and the zombies that infest it. When the world finally comes to its senses and decides to eradicate all nuclear weapons, the entire population is on the precipice of utopian peace and harmony. Too bad human nature gets in the way, and the device envisioned to save the world destroys it instead! The result is radiated mutant-zombies, undead creatures bent on eating the flesh of the few humans left unaffected by the catastrophe. In the grand tradition of George Romero’s classic zombie films and more recent comic ventures into the sub-genre like The Walking Dead (Image), Niles’s latest schlock masterpiece is a must for fans of brain–eating freaks.

Story/Spoilers
In Issue #1, When the world goes mad, a blackjack dealer and an exotic dancer are mysteriously spared. But now they’re trapped in Reno, surrounded by a veritable army of the undead – and with no idea what might wait for them beyond the city limits if they can escape. Are they the last man and woman on Earth? And if so, how long can they last?

Next in issue #2, Zombies are overrunning Reno-and how much else of the country, or the world, blackjack dealer Tom Bennett and waitress Tori Chambers have no way of knowing. They only know that they’re outnumbered about a million to one-and the odds are getting worse!

Next in issue #3, Tori and Tom make remarkable new discoveries about the zombie hordes overrunning Reno – and the zombies get a taste of their world as well. Meanwhile, other remaining humans have put their survival plans into motion – but is it too little, too late? Remains will forever change the way we think about zombie horror!

Next in issue #4, There’s a new girl in town, Cindy, who is keen on Tom, and Tori is not at all pleased. As the zombies mass outside the Reno casinos, tensions rise within. Meanwhile, the zombies continue to change, seemingly becoming smarter and more vicious. How long can the survivors hold out?

Finally in issue #5, The crew set up an explosive surprise for the oncoming onslaught of strange, green zombies. Before their plan can be executed, Tori springs a surprise of her own!
