Description
Solo #2 Comic
Featuring 5 macabre stories from comics’ legend, Richard Corben. Awesome!!
Editor: Mark Chiarello & Michael Siglain
Cover by: Richard Corben
The Solo series was conceived as an anthology series to spotlight the work of a different comic book artist in each issue. The creators were free to tell stories in any genre and to use DC’s library of characters as they saw fit. They could also work with writers if they chose, but the intention of the series was for them to show off the range of their own individual artistic sensibilities and abilities. The Solo series ran for 12 issues from 2004 to 2006. Each issue was published by DC Comics with no advertisements inside the comic.
Richard Corben was an American illustrator and comic book artist best known for his graphic novels and comics filled with outlandish adventures, vibrant fantasy worlds, and grisly horror. His comics were widely featured in the Heavy Metal magazine, especially the Den series which was also featured in the magazine’s first film adaptation “Heavy Metal” in 1981. Richard Corben’s work in comics and animation has won him world-wide recognition and a “cult” fan following. Of which I am one.
The series spotlighting the singular vision of top artists continues with issue #2 by Richard Corben. Featuring five horrifying tales of terror, suspense, intrigue and action! Corben brings life to a mummy in ancient Egypt, takes us into the trenches of a futuristic war, straps on a six-shooter for a good old- fashioned western, and then brings about the plague! And as if that isn’t enough, Corben teams up with writer John Arcudi for a not-so-solo story of the Spectre, Jim Corrigan! Solo #2 is an engrossing, enthralling anthology brought to you as only Richard Corben can!
