Description
The Ripper Legacy Comics Lot
Featuring the slasher terror of the Ripper… presented in Glorious Black & White. Awesome!!
Writer: Jim Alexander
Artist: Mark Bloodworth
Letterer: Nathan Pride
Editor: James Pruett
Cover by: Laurence Campbell
In the autumn of 1888, a serial killer stalked London’s East End prostitutes and struck terror into the heart of Victorian England. His identity, his motives, and the exact number of women he killed are to this day unknown. Jack the Ripper is a monster without a face. Elusive to law enforcement and fueled by media speculation the world has come to know and fear his name. The members of Raven, Inc. accept a case that takes them into the heart of that infamous century-old murder spree. This title is not for squeamish or faint of heart. Although minimal in content, be forewarned, as the depictions of the results of violence are graphic. Although Jack the Ripper’s last attributed victim was found in 1888, one realizes that the evil did not die with this monster. It’s an evil always lurking in the shadows of someone’s mind like a predator — waiting.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Jack the Ripper is the most infamous killer of all time even though his victims probably only numbered five and occurred well over a century ago. What could compel someone to commit such heinous crimes? The answer is revealed when it is discovered that an evil entity caused the deaths and used a host body. Now in present day the deaths begin anew and this time, it doesn’t intend to stop at five. An investigative crime team attempts to stop it and soon becomes aware that one of its members may be succumbing to the very force they’re trying to stop as they find out that not only can horror live forever, but it can manifest itself in many different ways.
Next in issue #2, To solve the latest series of murders that pattern themselves after the infamous Ripper murders, the investigative team must first solve the mystery of the 1888 Ripper murders. But in doing so, they fall deeper into a web of mystery, destruction, horror, and face the malevolent evil force that has spanned for centuries.
Finally in issue #3, The very essence of the Ripper legacy gets dark… very dark. The maze of confusion and mystery pulls the Raven investigative team apart as they begin to find out who they can…and cannot trust. The legacy seeps into one of their souls… and they will succumb to the taste of power and blood with terrifying results. It’s the startling conclusion… or perhaps just the prelude to the horrifying Ripper Legacy.
