Layouts: Timothy Truman & Roger Petersen
Letters: Willie Schubert
Editor: Catherine Yronwode
All Covers by: Christopher Schenck
Robin Hood is the dashing gentry renowned for “robbing from the rich and giving to the poor” along with his band of Merry Men. Robin Hood’s heroic adventures continue to be widely represented in literature, films and television.
Now, with this 3 issue comic mini-series, Eclipse Comics presents Robin Hood’s adventures with gorgeous watercolored art by Christopher Schenck. Awesome!!! In 1190, the beloved King Richard’s attention was fully occupied as he prepared to rejoin the Crusades. In those trying times, the Sheriff of Nottingham took advantage of the King’s lapsed attentions by over-taxing and oppressing the common folk under his charge. Only a small group of rebels, led by one Robin Hood, dared challenge his tyranny. From their hiding place deep in Sherwood Forest, Robin’s band staged counterstrikes against the Sheriff’s cruelty, winning the love of the common people and the abiding hatred of the Sheriff.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Robin Hood finds love with Marian, the men celebrate their pardons and employment by the King, and Richard and the Sheriff plot devious plans.
Next in issue #2, The game’s afoot, as Robin Hood faces off against the King, Sheriff, and Guy to save himself and his lady Marion.
Finally in issue #3, King Richard and the Sheriff of Nottingham prepare to carry out their plan to murder the hero of the common man and his heart’s love Marian. But all is not lost, as the merry men use a surprising new ally to cut short the wicked scheme of the corrupt nobility.
