In the early 1990’s, FantaCo published two comics by Gurch Singh: Tales of Screaming Horror and Vault of Screaming Terror. The Gurch’s wildly imaginative horror illustrations took the comic community by storm. By popular demand, we have contracted with The Gurch to release all the stories from Tales of Screaming Horror as the first issue in an ongoing horror comic series! The Gurch has painstakingly re-lettered and re-mastered each page for the best possible reproduction. He’ll also be including some brand new, never-before-published illustrations done just for this issue! The second issue in this series is all brand-new, never-before-seen stories.

Screaming Horror Issue #1

“The Made-Up Man“   7 pages

Using dark magic and grotesque methods, a man assembles a Frankenstein-inspired abomination. The abomination rips him to pieces, but the man remains alive because of the dark magic.

“Wife on the Edge”   7 pages

A man has a dream where he is brutally killed by his wife and a divorce lawyer. He awakens from his dream and immediately murders his wife.

“Grue-Love”   8 pages

A sleeping man is paid a visit from the girlfriend that he murdered. The man she was cheating on him with who he also murdered joins in. They both harass him before eventually killing him.

“Hen Pecked”   2 pages

A man is preparing for a night with an attractive woman. He takes male performance enhancing pills. Twenty minutes later, the pills have transformed his genital area into a horde of angry roosters (or cocks).

Screaming Horror Issue #2

“The Man Who Fell Asleep”   6 pages

A man is having a nightmare about falling from a tall building. He wakes up mid-nightmare, realizing he is safe. When he goes back to sleep, he resumes the nightmare and dies from the fall inside of it. The nightmare ends up killing the man.

“Cat’s Eye”   3 pages

Two elderly men are discussing the decline of the local cat population. One of the old men is blind, and he expresses how it feels like the local rat population has shot up. The two part ways, and the blind man heads home. He hears a rustling near his garbage can and attacks what he assumes is a rat. The animal is actually a cat and the corpse is thrown on to a continually growing stack of cat bodies.

“Gag! Time”   1 page

A zombie disconnects his own head to peak into a nudist camp. He sees some skeletons playing tennis.

“The Die Hard Fan”   7 pages

A horror fan participates in a zombie makeup competition. He digs up an actual corpse from a graveyard and photographs it to win the competition. After winning, he prepares to rebury the body when it comes to life and kills him. The film crew related to the competition discovers his body several days later.

“Frankenstein”   4 pages

Frankenstein’s monster takes part in creating floral arrangements.
