Description
Seduction of the Innocent Comics Lot
In 1954, Dr. Fredric Wertham’s infamous book, “Seduction of the Innocent,” scared a generation into believing that comic books were destroying the minds and morals of the younger generation. In the witch hunt that followed, many comic companies were forced out of business. The remaining ones were coerced into submitting their stories for approval from the Comics Code Authority. The CCA would only approve comics that it felt met a certain moral standard. Without that stamp, a comic was virtually unsalable. In homage to the great pre-Code horror comics, Eclipse Comics presented its own “Seduction of the Innocent”, reprinting classics from now-forgotten National Comics and Toby Publishing.
Featuring; Ghosts, Monsters, Aliens, Werewolves, Vampires, Zombies, Demons and other just creepy stories. With talents from Frank Frazetta, Alex Toth, and many other “old-school” artist from back in the day. Super cool “horror/science fiction/fantasy” anthology.
