In the present, Tadashi Natori is a man lost in this century, yearning for the simplicity and honor of feudal Japan. With his brother’s machien, the Timebender, he travels to the past, where he starts on his quest for Japan. But an encounter with bigotry and injustice forces him into an act of violence that forever changes the future. Tadashi is thrown into a deadly confrontation with the mad, repressive warlord of this bleak future. Stalked by the spectre of his own death, trapped in both the past and future, Tadashi dares a perilous journey of the spirit. He remains a man apart, caught in a timeless maelstrom of blood and evil.

Stories/Spoilers
In issue #1, “The Timebender”, Tadashi Natori is one of the people who feel that they were born in the wrong time. Natori was born in the late twentieth century, but trained in the ancient art of samurai warfare. For his entire life, he yearned to live in ancient Japan where he thought he would feel more comfortable. Tadashi got his chance when his twin brother, Ken, invented a time machine. Tadashi was sent back in time to the California of the Old West. But while there, he was forced into a deadly confrontation with a crew of murderers. That, coupled with a lab accident back in the future, changed history and threw Natori into a barbaric New California of 2129.

Next in issue #2, “Jihad of Gideon”, The action heats up, as Tadashi finds himself trapped in a besieged fortress in the future, and battling Tong warriors in the past.

Next in issue #3, “Caves of the Shorin”, Sensei battles the Shorin leader for his life, and runs a deadly gauntlet in old San Francisco.

Finally in issue #4, “Assault on Sandau”, Sensei and the Shorin lay siege to Sandau and Ken tries a desperate gambit to stop World War III.
