Description

Sergio Aragonés: Dia De Los Muertos – Day of the Dead               One-shot Comic
Writers: Sergio Aragonés & Mark Evanier
Artist: Sergio Aragonés
Colorist: Tom Luth
Letterer: Stan Sakai
Editor: Scott Allie
Cover by: Sergio Aragonés & Tom Luth

Beloved humorist and comics-scene fixture Sergio Aragonés (perpetrator of Groo the Wanderer and many hysterical bits in Mad) takes his turn as righteous satirist in Dia De Los Muertos. This provocative 1998 Dark Horse one-shot takes aim at American cultural imperialism in the form of obnoxious tourists, megalomaniac capitalists, and theme-park consumerism. Aragonés couches his earnest critique in a fable of a small town in Mexico that performs a unique ritual every year on the Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos, November 1). Attempts by heavy-handed Americans to exploit this ceremony for profit backfire in a most gruesome (or “Groo”some) manner.

Story/Spoilers
The famous Mexican holiday Dia De Los Muertos has become a fascination of North Americans from coast to coast, and now Sergio Aragonés demystifies the festival in an enlightening and hilarious one-shot. When everyone else is gearing up for Halloween, get a little exotic with Sergio, Mark, and Dark Horse, with our bizarre celebration of the Day of the Dead. Don’t forget your maracas.

Comic is bagged & double boarded and will be carefully / securely packaged then shipped via USPS Priority Mail to ensure that it arrives to you perfectly and quickly.
