Description
Sin City: The Babe Wore Red and Other Stories One-shot Comic
Writer: Frank Miller
Artist: Frank Miller
Editors: Barbara Kessel & Kris Young
Front Cover by: Frank Miller
Back Cover by: Frank Miller
Frank Miller’s Sin City first appeared in Dark Horse Presents #51–62 before these stories. Each series is intended to stand alone, published when ready rather than on a strict schedule. Sin City itself is a setting for each story-line, unnamed but seemingly rotten to the core. The characters all converge on Old Town, a no-go area for cops where the law is the law of the fist, the gun or, in some cases, the sword. At the heart of Old Town is a bar where strippers dress as cowboys and money will buy you almost anything. The women of the bar are also the area’s enforcers; if you cross them, you won’t live to regret it. But underlying all of the tales is something like the Japanese code of bushido, where honor means everything, especially if it’s all you’ve got.
Sin City is a place of quick justice and slow death, of animal heat and cold blood, where no one hears the screams in the night, but a soft footstep in the wrong part of town echoes like thunder. Sin City: The Babe Wore Red and Other Stories is a collection of three complete tales of the town without pity and the tough guys and hot dames who live there. In The Customer is Always Right, a man and woman fall in love, but one falls harder than the other. It’s true love Sin City style. On the opposite side of the coin, a working girl from Old Town gives her client a quick lesson in business, And What’s Behind Door Number Three… isn’t something you should negotiate for. And in the lead story, The Babe Wore Red, Dwight finds himself in frighteningly familiar territory with a too-much woman with too few answers, and a fully loaded shotgun aimed at his skull. Sex always makes Dwight stupid, so is he setting himself up for an idiot’s death? God only knows…
Sin City: The Babe Wore Red and Other Stories contains:
“And Behind Door Number Three…” 4 pages
The enigmatic “Cowboy” is captured by the allure of Wendy and subsequently shot and tied up by Gail. Although the Cowboy is willing to confess to the cops, the girls have other plans and invite Miho to finish the job.

“The Customer Is Always Right” 3 pages
Two nameless characters that go by “The Customer” and “The Salesman” meet on the terrace of a high rise building, hinting that although they seem to be acting like strangers, they do indeed have some sort of past. It is unclear what their past involves, even as they embrace in a passionate kiss. A silenced gunshot stabs the night air to reveal that The Salesman has shot The Customer.

“The Babe Wore Red” 23 pages
Dwight stumbles upon the hanging corpse of Fargo in his apartment and encounters Mr Shlubb, half of the recurring supporting duo, Douglas Klump and Burt Shlubb (aka Fat Man and Little Boy). He knocks out Shlubb and finds the titular character hiding in the shower. Under a barrage of sniper shots from Douglas Klump, Dwight and the Babe reach their car and speed off. Although they successfully elude the pair, Dwight refuses to let them off easy, choosing rather to head to The Farm to deal with them. In the meantime, the Babe introduces herself as a hooker named Mary, but Dwight can tell she’s lying. He duels with both of them again and due to insistence from Mary decides to shoot them in the leg instead of killing them. He eventually receives a package from Fargo who had shipped it off before his untimely demise. Dwight reads up on the whole situation and realizes that Fargo was simply the scapegoat for illegal drug-related activities and had paid the ultimate price. He also receives a package from Mary. She was not a hooker, rather a nun that had flirted with temptation before ultimately deciding to dedicate her life to God.
