Sinbad the Sailor (also spelled Sindbad), is a fictional adventurous sailor of Middle Eastern origin. Sinbad first appeared in the book 1001 Arabian Nights, which also featured the debut of Aladdin. Sinbad is known for his fantastic adventures going to magical places, meeting monsters, encountering supernatural phenomena, and battling nefarious villains during his many adventures while sailing on the seven seas. The popularity of Sinbad eventually led to a globally recognized character worthy of a franchise. The “Sinbad” franchise includes movies (some featuring stop-motion animation by Ray Harryhausen), TV shows & series (both animated & live action), as well as several media offerings including; books/novels, comics, toys, games, cards, art, clothing, and so much more. Like Conan, Tarzan, King Arthur, Robin Hood, Indiana Jones and the like, Sinbad is widely considered one of the greatest adventure characters of all time!

Now, with this 4 issue comic mini-series, Adventure Comics presents Sinbad’s adventures in glorious Back & White. Sinbad, a rogue who lives by his wits and his sword, taking what treasure he can while breaking the hearts of damsels along the way.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, ”The Heirs of Hell”, King Sharizar accuses his wife, Shahrazad, of infidelity after discovering a ring he gifted to her in the stall of a handsome merchant. Faced with these accusations, Shahrazad pleads with her husband to listen one of her stories, a story which will explain her actions. And so begins this tale of Sinbad the Sailor. Brought to the Caliph of Bagdad, Sinbad is informed that the Caliph’s wife, Aziza, has been kidnapped by disciples of a self-proclaimed prophet called the Mahdi. No ransom has been demanded, and the only clue is a ring that belonged to one of the disciples. Pledging to bring home the Caliph’s wife, Sinbad sets out with his reluctant friend Khalil on a daring rescue mission full of danger and adventure.

Next in issue #2, ”Decree of Blood”, Learning from The Caliph that the Lady Aziza had been kidnapped by the strange religious cult leader Mahdi, Sinbad wasted no time in hiring a ship for the long journey to rescue her. Along the way, they have encountered a giant, hungry sea-serpent!

Next in issue #3, “Mercy’s Token”, Infiltrating the camp of the insane Mahdi posed as a magician, Sinbad is captured after trying to rescue the Lady Aziza. But once again, he outwits the guards and snatches her from the clutches of the insane “holy man.” Together, with Khalil, the trio escape into the desert and stumble upon an abandoned temple… and a vindictive genie!

Finally in issue #4, ”The Hour of Doom”, Sinbad, Lady Azizza and Khalil have sought refuge in an abandoned temple in the middle of the desert after escaping from the crazy Madhi. Sending Khalil to the city to find help, Sinbad and Aziza stay behind hoping that they weren’t followed. But Madhi’s men find the temple and when they have recaptured the pair, he tells Sinbad why he kidnapped Aziza in the first place…
