It begins some years in the future, after plague has laid waste to the cities, causing the sort of hole in the fabric of society that only gangs and organized crime can fill. In the dirty tenements that remained, the streets turned mean, with people doing anything in their power to make a buck, anything—thievery, child prostitution, or even murder—in order to survive. Out of those streets grew the gang lords of that era, the “Presidents,” much like the Godfathers of a hundred years past. Among them were three kids, a black boy named Dutch Amsterdam, a world-hardened woman named Victoria Chandler, and the hardest one of all, Veto Skreemer. He was the one who would rise from the gutter to rule the city. And nobody – not his enemies, not even his friends – would get in his way. It would be his destiny.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “Souls to the Devil”, The era of Veto Skreemer will be a lot like today…only scarier. In the days after the fall of Western civilization a new order will rise, one dominated by the ruthless ‘Presidents’ of mob-style gangsters. Set in the devastated world of the near future, Skreemer is the story of chaos and violence…a world where history has begun to repeat itself…a world where only the strong have any hope for survival. Veto Skreemer is such a man. He has a remarkable gift…and a terrible curse. Veto Skreemer was born on the very day that civilization died. Skreemer is a hard-edged, fast-paced series that is at times realistic, at times over the edge of surrealism.

Next in issue #2, “A Drop of the Creature”, Who is Veto Skreemer? Here you’ll find his story, starting with his days in the youth gangs and continuing through his rise to power as a ruthless leader in the future Era of the Gangs.

Next in issue #3, “Woman to Woman and Man to Man”, As he schemes to eliminate the leaders of the opposing criminal gangs, Veto remembers his own ascension to power during the great gang wars.

Next in issue #4, “His Corpse to Wake”, This issue presents the history of Skreemer, from the height of his power to the first death rattles of his vast criminal empire…an empire he must now resurrect.

Next in issue #5, “D’ye Think I’m Dead?”, The Finnegans keep waking, the gangs keep waiting, and Veto Skreemer goes to confession as deadly air balloons float over America.

Finally in issue #6, “Finnegan’s Wake”, Veto Skreemer’s secret…and curse…revealed. The story concludes, tracing his life from its bloody beginnings to the equally bloody end of the Age of Giants.
