Snowman… A Native American spirit which has returned to avenge the genocide of his people.

Presented in Glorious Black & White.

The demon Snowman was once an Indian, living in the 19th century. As a boy out hunting with his father, the boy got attacked by a bear and lost his left leg. It never stopped him from hunting however. As a married man, his wife bore him a daughter. One day, a white man came, talking of peace between the Indian tribe and his group. His chief accepted the peace treaty. Two weeks after the treaty, his brother-in-law went hunting in the open plains. There his brother-in-law discovered that the treaty was a lie when one of the white men shot him dead. His wife’s heart broke and he swore vengeance against the invaders.

Avatar Press takes over the publication of Matt Martins horror saga Snowman, about a malevolent Native American spirit that can control ice and snow. A prequel to the original Snowman series, originally published by Entity but cancelled before the final chapter. Snowman 1944 was intended as a 4-issue miniseries, but this was the final issue; the story was concluded in the Snowman 1944 Special (Avatar Press). Reprints various pages and panels from Snowman 1944 #1-3 in addition to the final chapter of the storyline.

Story/Spoilers
Fighter pilot Tommy Gunston is shot down over Germany, along with another airman who carries the cursed Snowman arrowheads. When the arrowheads meet the Alpine snows, everyone on the battlefield faces an even worse threat. The Nazis encounter the white terror of the Snowman, who particularly hates European conquerors.
