Snowman… A Native American spirit which has returned to avenge the genocide of his people.

Presented in Glorious Black & White.

The demon Snowman was once an Indian, living in the 19th century. As a boy out hunting with his father, the boy got attacked by a bear and lost his left leg. It never stopped him from hunting however. As a married man, his wife bore him a daughter. One day, a white man came, talking of peace between the Indian tribe and his group. His chief accepted the peace treaty. Two weeks after the treaty, his brother-in-law went hunting in the open plains. There his brother-in-law discovered that the treaty was a lie when one of the white men shot him dead. His wife’s heart broke and he swore vengeance against the invaders.

Avatar Press takes over the publication of Matt Martin’s horror saga Snowman, about a malevolent Native American spirit that can control ice and snow. The return of Matt Martin’s Snowman, last seen in Snowman Dead and Dying (1997). Now, the government plans to counter the Snowman’s murderous rampages with a duplicate Snowman, but the result only manages to create twice the havoc and chaos. The murderous Snowmen keep on multiplying, and that’s bad news for the human race. This story is continued from Snowman: Dead and Dying (1998) Issue #3.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1A, “Death Toll”, The Army National Guard launch an all-out attack against the creature known as the Snowman which leads to deadly consequences. As the human death toll increases… Nira-X and Vortex try to slow him down, but they fail. The Snowman wants Jack McTiernan and Gwynn Fiala dead. But just when the Snowman strikes, a second Snowman shows up wanting his own “piece” of Gwynn. And the situation goes from bad to worse with countless dead and now two Snowmen on the scene… with the intent to kill some more.

Finally in issue #2A, “The Will to Live”, A-10 Tank Killers have been deployed to take out the rampaging Snowmen. With Gwynn in a Snowman’s grasp, Jack blows the head off of the Snowman with a shotgun. The Snowman reforms… but now Army National Guard reinforcements have arrived with guns blazing. The Snowmen quickly take them out…. and then turn on each other over Gwynn. The A-10 Tank Killers are on the way. The new Snowman takes out the old Snowman and embraces Gwynn, she stabs her hands into the Snowman’s eyes and pulls out the ancient crystals. The old Snowman reforms, the A-10 Tank Killers arrive unleashing hell on earth. Jack and Gwynn barely escape with the help of Nira-X and Vortex. As Jack and Gwynn contemplate what to do with the ancient jewels, the Snowman is not far behind…
