Story/Spoilers
When Spider-Man saves a young woman from a suicidal plunge, he soon realizes they’ve met before. Melinda is the former, and once dead, lover of the evil sorcerer Xandu, who once tried to animate the body of his girlfriend with the soul of the Scarlet Witch. That saga ended when demons from the Death Dimension claimed Xandu’s soul in exchange for Melinda, effectively returning her to life. So why is she trying to kill herself again, and why do those same demons seem so intent on helping her finish the job? Spider-Man and Dr. Strange journey into the Death Dimension seeking answers, where Spider-Man finds his spirit evicted by Xandu. This leaves Dr. Strange fighting a foe with all of Spider-Man’s powers and magic to boot. Eventually, of course, the good guys win out, Spider-Man gets his body back, and Melinda assumes her rightful place as Queen of the Dead
