Within Marvel Comic’s epic Spider-man Clone Saga, Spider-Man – The Final Adventure played a climatic role in Spider-Clone storyline. In this highly controversial series, a character named Ben Reilly appears and is revealed to be the true Peter Parker. This leaves Peter Parker, the character Marvel readers had known for over 20 years as The Amazing Spider-Man, to live a normal life with his family. But before he lets Reilly take his place, Parker has to stop a vicious killer, Tendril, and cure Dryrot, a pitiful decaying man. Both characters were exposed to the same device that originally gave Parker his powers, and his efforts may have profound consequences on his ambiguous identity.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “Destiny’s Web”, Part 1 of 4. Following the remarkable events of Spectacular Spider-Man 229; Peter Parker and his wife, Mary Jane, have moved to Portland, Oregon to begin a new life together! Everything is going great as Spider-Man’s alter-ego has found a good job with a well-known bio-tech company! But as the “retired” wall-crawler observes some of the company’s new experiments, his spider-sense starts tingling! Is the Amazing Spider-Man about to get back in the game? First appearance of Tendril.

Next in issue #2, “The Thin Line”, Part 2 of 4. In an experiment gone horribly wrong, Peter Parker’s new company accidentally releases Tendril on the unsuspecting citizens of Portland, Oregon! And now the retired web-slinger has no choice but to try and stop the disfigured ten-legged monster! But a certain pregnant redhead does not want her husband leaving her side! It looks like Spider-Man has a battle on his hands…both in the streets and at home!

Next in issue #3, “Skin Deep”, Part 3 of 4. The monstrous creature now called Tendril continues his killing spree in Portland, Oregon, forcing the retired Peter Parker to once again don the familiar red-and-blue costume of the amazing Spider-Man.

Finally in issue #4, “To End The Begin”, In New York, Mary Jane Watson-Parker finds herself confronted with the very real possibility that her blissful life with Peter may be over, especially since Daily Bugle reporter Ken Ellis seems to have discovered the secret connections between Parker and Spider-man!; Can Ben Reilly – the new Spider-Man – help Mary Jane lead Ellis off the track?; Meanwhile, in Portland, Oregon, Spider-Man and Dryrot must put a stop to Tendril’s rampage.
