What? Another Spider-Man title!? Well, it’s true, but this series promises a twist. The many other Spider-titles focus on Spidey, as a hero and in his private life. The whole point of those stories is how the events affect Spider-Man, and that’s pretty much the way it’s supposed to be.

Tangled Web shifts the point-of-view to other characters, showing how Spider-Man’s actions influence the lives around him. Sometimes the stories will focus on “good” characters, such as an innocent bystander on the edge of a fight. Other times, the POV will belong to someone “evil,” such as Spidey’s latest enemy, or just a poor henchman in the Kingpin’s employ.

Story/Spoilers
In part #1, In high school, no one can hear you scream. Few kids can brag that their father has gone toe-to-toe with Spider-Man, but even fewer that their father was dressed as a giant frog at the time! Eugene Colorito can. And this mild-mannered teen would just as soon forget the image of his father being beaten over the head with his own spring boot. Unfortunately, Eugene goes to high school with plenty of people eager to help him remember… and daddy’s just been released from the pen!

Next in part #2, There’s a bar with no name on the edge of town where they meet – the super-powered folks who choose to walk on the wrong side of the law and whose paths inevitably cross that of a certain wall-crawler. Tonight, an old warrior, a young turk and an mysterious stranger have convened at table three, to pound bourbon shots, lick their wounds, and exchange stories. And when the stranger tells his tale – that’s when things really get interesting.

Next in part #3, What really bit Peter Parker after that spider sunk its radioactive fangs into him? The wrestling bug! Looking for a way to cash in on his newfound abilities, the boy who’d one day be Spider-Man stepped into the squared circle to face off against one of the most feared men in the business: Crusher Hogan! And we all know the outcome of that match – or do we? So forget Spider-Man – what’s Hogan’s story? Just how many lives are affected by some kid innocently looking to make some easy money?

Next in part #4, Thirteen-year-old Heather has a severe crush on a certain web-spinning super hero that’s got her father climbing the walls – literally! Seems Heather’s old man has a few exoskeletons in his closet that he’d just as soon put to use squashing his archrival – and what time is better than the present?

Next in part #5, Tombstone is a ruthless gangster who can bang with the best of them – until he finds himself in the jail from hell. Now he must navigate a treacherous sea of gangs, corrupt guards and every man’s worst nightmare: the 7 foot-tall, 500-pound monster known as Kangaroo – who has a “thing” for poor Tombstone!

Finally in part #6, Tombstone’s plan to escape from prison may end up with him laid out and dying. Which is a …good thing?
