Star Trek is an American space opera media franchise based on the science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry. The first television series, simply called Star Trek and now referred to as “The Original Series”, debuted in 1966 and aired for three seasons on the television network NBC. It followed the interstellar adventures of Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and his crew aboard the starship USS Enterprise, a space exploration vessel, built by the United Federation of Planets in the twenty-third century. The Star Trek canon of the franchise includes The Original Series, an animated series, five spin-off television series, the film franchise, and further adaptations in several media.

This variant comic is a Retailer Exclusive Edition and was only made available through Merrymac Games and Comics for a limited time.

The adventures of the Starship Enterprise continue in this new ongoing series that picks up where the blockbuster 2009 film left off! Featuring the new cast of the film, these missions re-imagine the stories from the original series in the alternate timeline created by the film, along with new threats and characters never seen before! And now, the special ‘Legacy of Spock’ event continues here! As the future of New Vulcan hangs in the balance, the elder Spock finds himself a prisoner of the Romulan Empire!

Story/Spoilers
It is the year 2258. The Planet Vulcan is gone, destroyed by the Romulan Nero. The survivors of Vulcan embark on a search for a new planet to call home. The elder Spock, having arrived from an alternate timeline, offers his assistance to the Vulcan survivors. His offer is rejected. Blaming him in part for the loss of their homeworld, the other Vulcans exile Spock from any contact with them. Spock makes a secret journey to Romulus, hoping to spur the nascent peace movement there, decades before it would grow in the original timeline. But his presence is detected by the Romulan authorities, and now he faces judgement for his crimes against the Empire…
