To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before.
Star Trek is an American space opera media franchise based on the science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry. The first television series, simply called Star Trek and now referred to as “The Original Series”, debuted in 1966 and aired for three seasons on the television network NBC. It followed the interstellar adventures of Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and his crew aboard the starship USS Enterprise, a space exploration vessel, built by the United Federation of Planets in the twenty-third century. The Star Trek canon of the franchise includes The Original Series, an animated series, five spin-off television series, the film franchise, and further adaptations in several media.

IDW presents a Star Trek tale that expands the frontier of the Star Trek Universe. A new ship… a new crew… and a new mission. The most dangerous experimental vessel in the galaxy-a prototype time ship-has vanished, and it appears that the man who stole it is none other than Starfleet Admiral Edward Jellico.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “Turnaround, Part I”, After the mysterious disappearance of a Galaxy Class Starship in Federation space, the crew of the newly fitted out USS Paradox are sent to investigate, even though the ships new prototype “Shunt Drive” hasn’t been fully tested yet… Things are not what they seem however when the new starship is stolen by a Starfleet Admiral from the future, and then with the mysterious reappearance of Captain Calhouns old friend ‘Mark’, who left this galaxy after evolving to a higher form of consciousness, it can be expected that this won’t be the shakedown cruise that everyone was expecting.

Next in issue #2, “Turnaround, Part II”, Admiral Jellico steals a prototype time ship…or does he? Not everything is what it seems. Calhoun sends Captain Mueller to protect Bravo Station and Admiral Shelby. Soleta “bumps” into Admiral Jellico and the stolen prototype time ship.

Next in issue #3, “Turnaround, Part III”, Mackenzie Calhoun has caught up with the fleeing Admiral Jellico, and the Excalibur is prepared to blow both Jellico and the time ship out of space… until Calhoun discovers the shocking truth of who is behind both Jellico’s apparently treasonous acts and the theft of the experimental vessel. Soleta learns the truth about the Admiral Jellico who stole the Paradox… that he’s from the Mirror Universe.

Next in issue #4, “Turnaround, Part IV”, Nothing in the previous issues has been what it seemed as the true hijacker of the Paradox stands revealed, and Captain Calhoun finds himself face-to-face with the mastermind behind the entire plot. There are only two questions to be faced: Can he stop his opponent… and does he even want to?

Finally in issue #5, “Turnaround, Part V”, This is it: the final confrontation. Outgunned, outmanned, but never outwitted, Mackenzie Calhoun and the crew of the Excalibur face off against the masterminds behind the theft of the Paradox while the fate of Bravo Station, and Calhoun’s wife, Admiral Shelby, hang in the balance.
