To Boldly Go Where No One Has Gone Before.Star Trek is an American space opera media franchise based on the science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry. The first television series, simply called Star Trek and now referred to as “The Original Series”, debuted in 1966 and aired for three seasons on the television network NBC. It followed the interstellar adventures of Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and his crew aboard the starship USS Enterprise, a space exploration vessel, built by the United Federation of Planets in the twenty-third century. The Star Trek canon of the franchise includes The Original Series, an animated series, five spin-off television series, the film franchise, and further adaptations in several media.

Resistance is futile!The Borg are an alien group of cybernetic humanoids from the Delta Quadrant known as drones. that appear as recurring all-powerful antagonists in the Star Trek fictional universe. The Borg are cybernetic organisms linked in a hive mind called “the Collective”. No single individual truly existed within the Borg Collective (with the possible exception of the Borg Queen), as all Borg were linked into a hive mind which connected all of them and allowed information from every drone who had been brought into the collective to be shared. The Borg’s ultimate goal is “achieving perfection”. And they get closer to “achieving perfection” through the forcible assimilation of diverse sentient species, technologies, and knowledge which would be added and absorbed into the hive mind. As a result, the Borg were among the most powerful and feared entities in the galaxy, without really being a true species at all. Even the powerful Q Continuum were wary of provoking the Borg.

VERSUSThe Romulans are an alien race in the American science fiction franchise Star Trek. They first appeared in the 1966 Star Trek episode “Balance of Terror”. They are usually enemies of the United Federation of Planets. The Romulans are ruthless and militaristic species and are war-bent on an interstellar galactic empire. They have appeared in most subsequent Star Trek releases, including The Animated Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, Discovery and Picard. They have also appeared in the Star Trek feature films Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989), Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and Star Trek (2009). They also appear in various other spin-off media, including books, comics, toys and games. After the launch of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987, the show’s writers re-introduced the Romulans in the season finale of the first season, “The Neutral Zone”, which aired in the U.S. in May 1988. In “The Neutral Zone”, Captain Jean Luc Picard of the Enterprise-D and his crew are sent to investigate several Federation outposts near space controlled by the Romulan Star Empire that have not responded to communications. When the Enterprise-D arrives at the edge of the Neutral Zone, they find that a number of outposts have been completely obliterated. They are soon confronted by a Romulan Warbird. The Romulan subsequently reveal that their own outposts have been destroyed in the same manner as the Federation’s. Picard asks who is responsible, and the Romulans fall silent…

Now, Marvel Comics presents, an untold story of Borg first contact. The story introduces the Borg’s first incursion into the Alpha Quadrant that was ominously referred to the TNG episode: “The Neutral Zone”. After the events in the episode, an unfortunate Romulan warbird commander and her crew pick up a warp trail signature coming into Romulan territory from uncharted space and aggressively go to investigate. But before the Federation learns to fear the Borg, the Romulans learn what it means to be assimilated by the Borg. An important chapter in Star Trek continuity!

Story/Spoilers
The process of “assimilation”: forcibly transforming individual beings into “drones” by injecting nanoprobes into their bodies and surgically augmenting them with cybernetic components. A ruthless Romulan Warbird Commander named, Moliok and her Crew encounters for the first time, the most mysterious and feared villains in the Star Trek universe, the Borg! They soon learn… that “Resistance is futile!” and that “assimilation” is inevitable.
