Star Trek: Voyager is an American science fiction television series created by Rick Berman, Michael Piller, and Jeri Taylor. It originally aired from January 1995 to May 2001 on UPN, lasting for 172 episodes over seven seasons. The fifth series in the Star Trek franchise, it served as the fourth sequel to Star Trek: The Original Series. Set in the 24th century, when Earth is part of a United Federation of Planets, it follows the adventures of the Starfleet vessel USS Voyager as it attempts to return home after being stranded in the Delta Quadrant on the far side of the Milky Way galaxy. Set in a different part of the galaxy from preceding Star Trek shows, Voyager gave the series’ writers space to introduce new alien species as recurring characters, namely the Kazon, Vidiians, Hirogen, and Species 8472. During the later seasons, the Borg—a species created for The Next Generation—were introduced as the main antagonists. During Voyager’s run, various episode novelisations and tie-in video games were produced; after it ended, various novels continued the series narrative. Voyager was the first Star Trek series to feature a female captain, Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), as the lead character. The U.S.S. Voyager is commanded by Captain Kathryn Janeway and is staffed by first officer Commander Chakotay, second officer/security -Tuvok, Helmsman/medic – Tom Paris, Chief engineer – B’Elanna Torres, Chief medical officer – Human hologram doctor, Nurse/ Botanist – Kes, Morale officer/cook – Neelix, and Astrometrics lab crewman – Seven of Nine. And, Star Trek: Voyager was the first Star Trek series to use computer-generated imagery (CGI), rather than models, for exterior space shots.

Now, Marvel Comics presents, “Star Trek: Voyager – Splashdown”! On her continuing journey back home, the U.S.S. Voyager comes under attack! Forced to crash land on a planet covered with water, Voyager must now deal with flood waters and a rapidly sinking ship!

Stories/Spoilers
In issue #1, The U.S.S. Voyager continues its trek back to the Alpha Quadrant while fulfilling the goals and ideals of the Federation: To explore new worlds and to seek out new life and new civilizations. However, some new civilizations are eager to meet Voyager and her crew for entirely different reasons… U.S.S. Voyager is abruptly attacked by drone forces! A brilliant move saves the USS Voyager and her crew but forces a crash landing on a water world. The crew must now deal with the U.S.S. Voyager has she sinks ever deeper into the depths of the ocean planet!

Next in issue #2, Continuing her journey back to the Alpha quadrant. The U.S.S. Voyager was experiencing a time of relative calm. Captain Janeway and First Officer Chakotay even had time to enjoy one of the captain’s favorite holodeck programs, but this idyllic time was short-lived. The U.S.S. Voyager was horribly attacked by wave after wave of drone ships whose unrelenting assault weakened Voyager. In an effort to “scrape” these attackers from her ship, Janeway ordered the Voyager into the upper atmosphere of a nearby planet. The action was successful in removing the drones’ threat, but U.S.S. Voyager had sustained serious damage. She was forced to crash-land on the surface of this world which was covered by water. With many of Voyager’s systems off-line, she began to sink. It is one minute later…

Next in issue #3, Due to damage from an unprovoked attack, the U.S.S. Voyager has “splashed down” on a world covered by vast oceans and is sinking. B’Ellana, Seven of Nine, Vorick found themselves trapped in the rapidly flooding engineering section, and they weren’t alone. Meanwhile on the bridge, Captain Janeway executed a unique plan to stop the Voyager from sinking further. She ordered Tuvok to use the transporters to beam out the vast quantities of water that had flooded many empty compartments. Once a semblance of order had been restored, Tuvok located an alien structure which seemed to be a controlling point for the attack drones that had caused Voyager’s predicament. Tuvok led an away team to the seemingly deserted city but suddenly one of the alien artifacts surged with energy.

Finally in issue #4, While investigating a mysterious underwater structure, Tuvok and his away team encountered a strange alien being who claimed to be a “prospector”. All manners of alien gems were scattered throughout the structure and Tuvok deduced that the alien had been using a Tri-Polar Transference Threshold to engage in illegal activities. Meanwhile aboard the Voyager, B’Ellana, Seven of Nine, Vorick attempted to increase power to the ship to facilitate her return to the surface of the water planet upon which they had crashed. However, an accident while under Zero-G conditions caused simple sparks to grow into massive fireballs. B’Ellana and Seven managed to stop the fireballs before all of engineering was destroyed. Back in the structure, the alien managed to escape into the transference portal. Harry attempted to utilize the control surfaces to track the “prospector”, but the group was rendered unconscious by an energy blast. The Voyager finally returned to the surface of the planet wide ocean but was met by the same drone ships that had attacked her and forced the ship’s crash. It is one minute later…
