Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977. This was followed by two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back, released on May 21, 1980, and Return of the Jedi, released on May 25, 1983. Then more than two decades after the release of the original film, the series continued with a prequel trilogy; consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, released on May 19, 1999; Episode II: Attack of the Clones, released on May 16, 2002; Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, released on May 19, 2005; and finally the epic saga concluded with Star Wars: The Force Awakens released on December 18, 2015; Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 18, 2017. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, released on December 18, 2017. And Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released on December 20, 2019.
Dark Horse Comics presents a multigenerational tale of honor and redemption, starring two of the heaviest hitters in the Star Wars galaxy – the father-and-clone team of Jango and Boba Fett! Though not actually father and son , Jango Fett and Boba Fett share the same blood – literally. But even more than blood, Boba will discover that his decisions made in Jango’s life have an impact on the life of his clone…
Now… a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Star Wars: Blood Ties! Jango and Boba Fett. Shortly before the start of the Clone Wars, Count Dooku sends Jango Fett on a mission that will affect the course of Boba Fett’s life some twenty years later. But for now, neither of them knows what the future holds in store, and besides, they have their schedule filled dodging monsters and fighting bad guys! It’s Jango Fett and Boba Fett together in a series featuring fully painted art by Purge artist Chris Scalf!
Story/Spoilers
In part #1, “Father and Clone – in an Adventure Spanning Two Generations!”, Jango Fett takes a job from Count Dooku, to kill a target on planet Atzerri. The target has sensitive information about Count Dooku’s operation on Kamino. After finding the target, Jango finds out that the target is a Clone trooper who had left the Grand Army of the Republic.
Next in part #2, “Fathers and Sons”, Jango Fett received a secret order from Count Dooku to find and assassinate a mysterious individual who always wore a helmet to hide his identity, and who was a party to tosensitive Separatist information. The “helmeted man” was to be found on Atzerri. Arriving on the planet, Jango brought young Boba Fett along on the mission as part of the boy’s training. They established a sniper’s position overlooking the target’s residence, with Boba ready to take the shot. When Boba’s shot missed, Jango had to confront the helmeted man face to face. It was a face Jango had seen many times before…
Next in part #3, “Boba Fett is Never Unarmed!”, Shortly before the start of the Clone Wars, while on a secret mission from Count Dooku, Jango Fett found that his target was one of his clones gone rogue. Jango completed the job, killing the clone – just before he discovered that the clone had a wife and a son. Leaving the scene, Jango promised to tell young Boba what had happened, but he never got the chance. Now, decades later, Boba Fett learns that one of his quarries – a man wanted by a bloodthirsty crime lord has been receiving a secret legacy from Jango. His interest piqued, Boba locates his father’s mysterious beneficiary…at exactly the same time as several other bounty hunters!
Finally in part #4, “Fett on the Menu!”, An inquiry into a minor bounty for a man named Connor Freeman reveals that Jango Fett had a bequeathed Freeman a substantial legacy. Boba Fett decides to search for the man to find out the reason. But Fett is not the only one after Freeman, and they soon encounter the self – proclaimed “League of Bounty Hunters.” Though Fett and Freeman find they are related through Jango Fett in a way neither of them could have imagined, the League ambushes them, capturing Freeman and leaving Fett for dead. Now the League is ready to collect its fee and send Connor Freeman to a painful death. But the League of Bounty Hunters – and the crime lord who placed the bounty on Freeman are about to discover that no one crosses Boba Fett…
