A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…

Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas.  The film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977. This was followed by two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back, released on May 21, 1980, and Return of the Jedi, released on May 25, 1983. Then more than two decades after the release of the original film, the series continued with a prequel trilogy; consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, released on May 19, 1999; Episode II: Attack of the Clones, released on May 16, 2002; Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, released on May 19, 2005; and  finally the epic saga concluded with Star Wars: The Force Awakens released on December 18, 2015;  Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 18, 2017. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, released on December 18, 2017. And Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released on December 20, 2019.

In 2001, Dark Horse Comics continued the Star Wars saga with this four-issue mini-series, set just after the first movie, Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Detailing the events four years after the Battle of Naboo in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and 28 years before the Battle of Yavin in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. If young Anakin Skywalker is to become a Jedi he must follow the teachings of his new Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and confront and overcome all of his fears. Make sure not to miss this important series which bridges the events between Episode I and II and expands on the character of the boy who will one day grow to be the Dark Lord of the galaxy… Darth Vader!

Now… a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Jedi Quest! Shortly after Obi-Wan takes Anakin Skywalker to be his Padawan learner, they journey to the cold planet Ilum where the Jedi go to be tested and to choose a rare crystal to construct their own lightsabers. After Anakin Skywalker proves himself and constructs his own lightsaber, the Jedi Council assign Obi-wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to protect a Colicoid diplomatic starship and its crew from the potential threat of a notorious pirate named Krayn the Enslaver…

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Obi Wan Kenobi’s new Padawan learner, the young Anakin Skywalker is beginning his training to be Jedi Knight. His mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, has brought him to the cold planet Ilum, where the rare crystals grow with which Jedi lightsabers are fashioned. In the crystal caves the Jedi Padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker must use the Force and face his deepest fears and private demons… including the memory of the man who killed his friend Qui-Gon Ginn, the vicious Darth Maul.

Next in issue #2, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are on an escort mission, ensuring that a freighter does not become the next victim to the vicious pirate and slave trader Krayn. But it will take more than Jedi to keep Krayn from his prey. Anakin and Obi-Wan venture into Krayn’s ship to keep him at bay. Anakin must fight his hatred of the slaver if he is to finish this mission, but the temptation to stop Krayn may prove to be too much for the young Padawan!

Next in issue #3, Captured by Krayn, a ruthless pirate and slave trader, Anakin Skywalker is bound into servitude and thrust into the dangerous spice factories of Nar Shaddaa. Obi-Wan Kenobi prepares to infiltrate Krayn’s operations to rescue his beloved Padawan. Anakin, without his lightsaber, must again fight for freedom and help his fellow slaves.

Finally, in issue #4, The exciting finale to a series bridging the events between Star Wars: Episode I and Episode II! A disguised Obi-Wan Kenobi infiltrates the slaver Krayn’s spice factories on Nar Shaddaa to free his Padawan. Amidst the processing of spice and cruel working conditions, Anakin befriends some slaves and plants seeds of revolt. Imprisoned and forming an alliance with the mysterious Siri, Anakin’s only hope for freedom lies in his ability to convince his fellow slaves that Krayn’s rule over the spice factories can be shattered by the unity of the masses.
