In part 1, Twenty-one years before the events in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn is dispatched to prevent the outbreak of a civil war on the homeworld of his Padawan Xanatos – whose father is king. It is a mission that will lead Qui-Gon into close contact with the dark side and start him on a quest that will have a major impact on the future of the Jedi Order!
Next in part 2, Dispatched to the planet Telos IV, Qui-Gon, his Padawan Xanatos, and the lovely Jedi Master Tahl must uncover the secrets behind a recent political assassination and prevent an outbreak of civil war. For the headstrong Xanatos, this return to the world of his birth has dredged up hidden resentments, while Master Tahl has herself become a target for assassination! Intrigue, action, danger, and the dark side are imminent! Years before the events in Star Wars: Episode I, before Obi-Wan Kenobi was his Padawan, and before he met Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn had his first encounters with the dark side…
Next in part 3, On Telos IV, a priestess has been assassinated, and the planet is on the verge of civil war. Only Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Xanatos can protect the planet’s leader – who just happens to be Xanatos’s father – and stop the insurgents. But Xanatos is succumbing to his own long-buried resentments and may soon be more of a hindrance than a help.
Next in part 4, The situation on Telos IV is getting darker: sabotage, assassination attempts, secret meetings, undercover agents… But right now, Master Qui-Gon Jinn’s main concern is controlling his headstong Padawan. The homecoming on Telos has proved incredibly difficult for the proud and bitter Xanatos. His difficulties in reconnecting with his father and sister are putting the team of Jedi in peril as they near the shocking facts behind the burgeoning civil war…
Next in part 5, Civil war has broken out on Telos IV. As the governor rallies his military, Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn struggles desperately to uncover the reason for the planet’s unrest, in hope of stopping the war… But Qui-Gon’s troubled Padawan isn’t helping: his homecoming to Telos has been anything but happy, and the recent events—including the horrific death of a family member—have fueled his growing anger. This time, though, Qui-Gon is the target!
The Telosian governor Crion mourns the loss of his daughter, Nason, while Xanatos attempts to console him. Crion brushes aside these condolences, labeling Nason’s death as an act of sacrifice. Crion goes on to sway Xanatos fully to his side, completely explaining his entire scheme to him. Meanwhile, Minister Hukowl An Devi is visited by Dairoki, a former Jedi and agent of Crion. Dairoki voiced his frustrations with Crion, fearing that he is losing focus in his grief, and letting slip to An Devi how he and Crion were responsible for setting the Telosian Civil War in motion. An Devi, who had been unaware of the scheme, attacks Dairoki, who fends him off and flees the planet. As the Civil War escalates, with Crion and Xanatos observing from their palace, Qui-Gon Jinn prepares to approach his wayward apprentice to apologize before arranging passage off-world for himself and Orykan Tamarik. Before he can do so, he is approached by An Devi. While Qui-Gon goes to confront Crion, An Devi publicly denounces Crion, revealing his scheme to pin the activities of Telosian rebels on the nearby Toprawa system, to whip the Telosian population into a nationalist frenzy.
