A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…
Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977. This was followed by two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back, released on May 21, 1980, and Return of the Jedi, released on May 25, 1983. Then more than two decades after the release of the original film, the series continued with a prequel trilogy; consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, released on May 19, 1999; Episode II: Attack of the Clones, released on May 16, 2002; Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, released on May 19, 2005; and finally the epic saga concluded with Star Wars: The Force Awakens released on December 18, 2015; Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 18, 2017. And Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released on December 20, 2019.
The Old Republic was the legendary government that united a galaxy under the rule of the Senate. In This era, the Jedi are numerous, and serve as guardians of peace and justice. The Old Republic comic series takes place in this era, chronicling the immense wars fought by the Jedi of old, and the ancient Sith.
It is a new day in the Mandalorian Wars. For most of a year, the rampaging armored nomads have dealt the Republic Navy one stinging defeat after another. But now, the Republic’s fondest wish has been granted: The Jedi have entered the war. Attracted by the charismatic leader Revan, many Jedi Knights defy the Jedi Council’s preferred neutrality and volunteer to serve aboard Republic vessels as advisers. Their peaceful role is a sham. They intend to fight alongside the Navy and its affiliated ground forces – and fight they do. The crusaders make an impact first in the outer Rim, successfully helping the Republic’s nonmember allies root out Mandalorian strongholds. Now, on Essien, they mean to do so again, leading forces from the Phaeda Militia – a militia that happens to include an unlucky young draftee who truly does prefer peace to war…
Stories/Spoilers
In part #1, The Republic and the Mandalorians are at war! Jedi are joining the fight, despite the noninterference stance of the Council. One Jedi, however, has found himself on the front lines against his wishes – the peace-loving Zayne Carrick has been drafted!
Next in part #2, Can a pacifist survive in a war zone? Jedi Zayne Carrick is having a hard time of it, first drafted and now caught in the crossfire between the Mandalorians, the Republic Navy – and even fellow Jedi!
Next in part #3, Peace-loving Jedi Zayne Carrick is an unwilling recruit in the war between the Republic and the Mandalorians. When he discovers that his homeworld is about to become the center of a battle zone, Zayne is prepared to do everything to prevent bloodshed—like calling in a favor from an old friend and putting together a complicated ruse!
Next in part #4, The Republic, the Mandalorians, and even some of the Jedi are corrupt—so Zayne Carrick is going to take matters fully into his own lightsaber-wielding hands. It’s high risk and utterly insane, and the allies Zayne has to work with aren’t exactly what you’d call trustworthy… but at least this time he knows that up front!
Finally in part #5, Part one of Zayne’s plan to foil the Mandalorian Knights and their misguided leader is complete–but the battle is not yet won. Taking on the Mandalorians face to face is still on the agenda, and Zayne’s questionable team could blow the operation at any moment… With everything on the line, all Zayne can do is have faith!
