A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…
Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas. The film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977. This was followed by two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back, released on May 21, 1980, and Return of the Jedi, released on May 25, 1983. Then more than two decades after the release of the original film, the series continued with a prequel trilogy; consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, released on May 19, 1999; Episode II: Attack of the Clones, released on May 16, 2002; Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, released on May 19, 2005; and finally the epic saga concluded with Star Wars: The Force Awakens released on December 18, 2015; Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 18, 2017. And Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released on December 20, 2019.
The Old Republic was the legendary government that united a galaxy under the rule of the Senate. In This era, the Jedi are numerous, and serve as guardians of peace and justice. The Old Republic comic series takes place in this era, chronicling the immense wars fought by the Jedi of old, and the ancient Sith.
Months earlier, former Padawan Zayne Carrick helped capture Demagol, the twisted Mandalorian biologist. Now, with Demagol awakened from his coma, Zayne and his con-artist parent Gryph are called to the Republic capital to testify in the show trial of the age. The call comes just a Zayne parts with another Mandalorian, the enigmatic Rohlan, and with Jarael, his fierce warrior ally. His faith in her shaken by his encounter with Chantique – the vindictive, force-using leader of the Crucible slaver organizations – Zayne has driven Jarael away. His team splintered, Zayne’s adventures finally seem at an end. But Zayne’s fortunes, as ever, are poised for another turn. Surprises – and dangers – await in quarters where he never suspected them…
Stories/Spoilers
In part #1, The trial of Demagol, the twisted Mandalorian researcher, is finally underway on Coruscant—headed by none other than the Jedi Malak, a favorite of fans of the Knights of the Old Republic video game! Malak is going to make sure that Demagol, a specimen of true Mandalorian evil and deception, is made an example of and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Amidst the trial, Zayne Carrick and his friends are learning a lot about deception in their own ranks—and what they discover will threaten the life of one of their own!
Next in part #2, Once again a fugitive from justice, former Jedi student Zayne Carrick and his partner Gryph finally find out the truth behind their enemy, the macabre Mandalorian scientist Demagol. Yet they’ve learned it too late to save a friend from deadly peril! The origin of Demagol is finally revealed!
Next in part #3, It is do or die for former Padawan Zayne Carrick as he desperately tries to save Jarael’s life. He’ll call in favors from the Senate, the Mandalorian Cassus Fett, and Admiral Karath of the Republic Navy — but none can prepare him for what he’s about to face!
Finally in part #4, Zayne and the Mandalorian Rohlan rush to aid their friend Jarael against the demented scientist Demagol and the vicious slaver Chantique. If they can arrive in time, there is a chance that everything will turn out in their favor – but with Zayne’s ever-awkward connection to the Force, nothing is certain…
