Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas.  The film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977. This was followed by two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back, released on May 21, 1980, and Return of the Jedi, released on May 25, 1983. Then more than two decades after the release of the original film, the series continued with a prequel trilogy; consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, released on May 19, 1999; Episode II: Attack of the Clones, released on May 16, 2002; Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, released on May 19, 2005; and finally the epic saga concluded with Star Wars: The Force Awakens released on December 18, 2015; Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on December 18, 2017. And Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released on December 20, 2019.

The Star Wars: Purge is a series of one-shot comics featuring Darth Vader as he brings death to the remaining Jedi who survived the brunt of Order 66. His legend grows as he roots out Jedi, crushing their lives, their hopes, and all memory of their kind from the civilizations that now bow to the Galactic Empire.

And now, Dark Horse Comics presents a thrilling entry into the Purge series: “Star Wars: Purge – The Tyrant’s Fist”. Emperor Palpatine’s new order sweeps across the galaxy, transforming the democratic Republic into a totalitarian Empire with no room for resistance or free thought. Yet while many planets welcome Palpatine’s influence, others cling to the past. Survivors of the decimated Jedi Order – once protectors of the galaxy, now fugitives marked for death – foment rebellion and seek to destroy what Palpatine builds. Emperor Palpatine’s deadly enforcer, Darth Vader, has grown obsessed with the Jedi’s destruction – an obsession that has clouded his vision in the past. At his master’s bidding, he has ventured to an outlying Imperial world to end a Jedi-backed Insurgency…

Story/Spoilers
First in issue #1, Shortly after the birth of the Empire, Darth Vader master of combat, terror of his enemies, continues his purge of the Jedi Knights on a planet where his Jedi prey are revered. Amidst a planetwide insurgency, the Dark Lord must snuff out one surviving Jedi, as well as kill the fire of rebellion in the native populace. All will bow to the power of Vader and the Galactic Empire!

Finally in issue #2, Darth Vader, hand of the new Galactic Empire, must find a new way to dominate the rebellious natives. Simple force won’t work on these people; Vader must carve out the heart of their pride and fill the hollow that is left behind with fear and obedience to the Empire. But one Jedi blocks the path to power.
