Star Wars Tales is an anthology comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics, beginning on September 29, 1999, and completing its run on July 13, 2005. Each issue is 64 pages and features a few unrelated stories from various eras of the Star Wars timeline. Stories from issues #1–20 were retroactively labelled “Infinities”, placing them outside the Star Wars canon, while those of issues #21–24 were considered to be within continuity, unless labelled otherwise. References to the stories were made within the Expanded Universe, the entirety of which was deemed non-canon by Lucasfilm in 2014.
And now, Dark Horse Presents “Star Wars Tales #7”. Featuring Ailyn Vel’s first appearance, Ailyn Vel was a near-Human bounty hunter, the daughter of Boba Fett and Sintas Vel and the granddaughter of Jango Fett. When Ailyn was just a baby, her father, Boba, was forced to leave her and her mother. Additional appearances by Boba Fett, Plo Koon, Micah Giiett, Yoda, Mace Windu, and Domo Jones in 5 Star Wars one-off stories!

Aboard the Trade Federation battleship Stockade, the incarcerated Feeorin Nym recounts the story of how he got there to his Neimoidian cellmate. In orbit around Maramere in the Havoc, Nym, Kole and Jinkins waited for the mercenary Vana Sage and her “buyers,” a group of bounty hunters, to trade experimental weapons for Stygium crystals. Once on board the space station, Nym and his crew met the buyers to exchange goods. When Nym revealed that he had buried the power cells for the weapons as a safeguard, a fight ensued between the crew of the Havoc and the bounty hunters. Under the threat of droidekas, Sage captured the crew, sent Kole and Jinkins to Maramere in an escape pod, and took the Havoc as payment for delivering Nym to the Trade Federation. Back in the cell, Merick and Bavo arrive to rescue Nym, who vows revenge on Vana Sage.

Jedi Council members Micah Giiett and Plo Koon embark on a mission to planet Ord Mantell, to rescue famous chef Slabba Drewl from Corpo the Hutt. Apparently Drewl was enslaved to Corpo after losing a bet with the Hutt. Corpo’s priorities in life were gambling and food, and his prize possession was a MREM-02, called Moreemohtwo. Giett bets Corpo that he can prepare a meal better than one made by Moreemohtwo. Corpo accepts the wager—if Giett wins, Drewl is freed. If Moreemohtwo wins, then Giett would also become enslaved to the Hutt. Giett secretly instructs Plo Koon to “sabotage” the meal prepared by the droid. The “cook-off” begins, with a host announcing the theme ingredient: Denusian squirmers. Giett is bitten on the nose by a squirmer, and he uses his lightsaber to power-chop and flash cook the theme ingredient. Meanwhile, Plo Koon sneakily replaces Moreemohtwo’s seebo sauce with droid oil, and slips gundark droppings, Rakririan Burnout Sauce and Bothan foot powder into Moreemohtwo’s pot. At the end of the cook-off, Moreemohtwo presents 5 dishes of delicious looking food, while Giett presents his two messy bowls of squirmer stew. After Corpo tastes Moreemohtwo’s sabotaged meal, Corpo immediately releases Drewl from custody. Corpo then beats on Moreemohtwo for losing the bet, causing the latter to eventually fall onto the Hutt, causing an Ewok to shout “Hutt Pizza!”.

The story begins with Boba Fett, ruthless Bounty Hunter and fearless Mandalorian interrogating a slimeball. Boba is dragging the corpulent thug behind his swoop stopping in front of a cave which houses a Globblin. As the hungry creature approaches the lowlife, he gives Fett a disc containing information that Boba had been asking for. Fett releases the thug and flies away on his swoop bike, leaving the fat scum to be eaten by the Globblin. Later Boba activates the holodisk that the slimeball gave him. The image of a plump extravagantly clothed man appears. He has something Boba wants and demands 6.3 million credits for it, or it will go to the highest bidder. Watching the fat businessman whose name is Pizztove, taunt him, Boba angrily crushes a rock that he is holding to dust. In the city of Bidamount a wily gangster working for a business man named Pizztov is attacked by a bounty hunter named Sintas Vel. She demands to know where Pizztov is. A few minutes later in Pizztov’s office an explosion takes out the wall, Sintas walks through the smoke and kills Pizztov’s bodyguard. She demands an item that Pizztov stole from her. Suddenly another bodyguard comes up behind Sintas and is about to crush her, when a shot hits his neck. Pizztov turns and to his horror, there stands “F-F-Fett.” Trying several times to negotiate his way out of the predicament alive, Pizztov realizes that “this does not bode well” for him at all. He decides it is “Time to be rude” and shoots at Fett and throws his nearby girlfriend at Sintas. Pizztov then leaps down a hole created by Sintas’s entrance. After taking a moment to acknowledge each other Boba and Sintas leave so that they can capture Pizztov. Sintas takes the most direct route and jumps down the hole after Pizztov, however Boba takes a different route and casually heads out the door. Sintas catches up with Pizztov quickly and shoots him in the back. She picks up the “canister” she and Boba both want and is about to open it when a shot hits her arm causing the canister to fly out of her hand. Boba stands there holding a smoking blaster. Pizztov awakens and grabs one of Sintas’ blasters and fires at Boba. Fortunately for Fett, Pizztov forgot to aim. Fett picks up his blaster and kills Pizztov. Boba picks up the canister and explains to Sintas that without Pizztov’s retina scan the canister would have killed her. Boba activates the canister which reveals a holo of Boba holding Sintas, who is cradling a baby. Boba hands the canister to the tearful Sintas telling her that “your wounds will heal” but Sintas whispers after him “some never do”.

Mace Windu and Yoda debate the possibility of training Anakin Skywalker and expressing their opinions about the Prophecy about the one, who will bring balance to the Force. While eating at a fast food restaurant, they are resorting to food-based analogies to make their points. At one point, Yoda uses his mind control powers on the waitress to make the meal free, to protect them from “evil price hikes.” They also fend off a robbery. At the end of the story, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine joins them and expresses his opinion that Skywalker would make a fine Jedi.
