Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise centered on a film series created by George Lucas.  The film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977. This was followed by two sequels: The Empire Strikes Back, released on May 21, 1980, and Return of the Jedi, released on May 25, 1983. The more than two decades after the release of the original film, the series continued with a prequel trilogy; consisting of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, released on May 19, 1999; Episode II: Attack of the Clones, released on May 16, 2002; and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, released on May 19, 2005. And Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled for release on December 18, 2015.

Dark Horse Comics presents Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron… The Continuing Adventures of Wedge Antilles. Different Star Wars story arcs were featured using sub-series with-in the series. Various characters, places, and events are further chronicled in the Star Wars Universe… beginning with the 1st sub-series, ” The Rebel Opposition” featuring X-Wing pilot, Wedge Antilles.

Now… a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… Star Wars: X-Wing Rogue Squadron – The Rebel Opposition! Wedge Antilles, famed Corellian pilot and general, known as a hero of the Rebel Alliance and New Republic. A standout starfighter pilot, he was one of the few to survive the Battle of Yavin, after which he founded Rogue Squadron with his friend Luke Skywalker. Antilles and Skywalker built Rogue Squadron into a renowned unit, and after the Battle of Hoth, Antilles took command and later gained the reputation as the New Republic’s greatest pilot. But when a rescue mission goes wrong and Wedge Antilles is shot down by Imperial Forces, he finds himself in a harrowing place of defeat and survival…

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Wedge Antilles is a combat-hardened X-wing pilot, one of the only fliers to survive the missions against both Death Stars. After those two assignments and his post as leader of Rogue Squadron, you’d think he’d seen everything. But when he heads a rescue and retrieval for a downed man on the planet Cilpar, he finds something he’d never expected: a culture that hates the Empire… and hates the Alliance even more!

Next in issue #2, When Rogue Squadron leader Wedge Antilles is downed in a bloody battle against Imperial All Terrain Scout Transports, he is forced to form an uneasy alliance with the Cilpari natives, whose dislike for the Rebels is only dwarfed by their hatred for the Empire. Wedge must regroup Rogue Squadron before the Cilpari alliance is shattered, and rejoin the battle to save the galaxy!

Next in issue #3, Tycho Celchu has infiltrated the Imperial Forces. Now he can communicate vital strategic information that will give the Rebellion an upper hand! But when he’s pressed to lead a raid on his old Rogue Squadron teammates, he must choose between saving his comrades and serving the cause.

Finally in issue #4, Tycho Celchu must make the hardest decision of his lifetime: choosing between saving his friends and supporting his cause. Disguised as an Imperial fighter pilot, Rogue Squadron flyer Tycho Celchu has successfully infiltrated the Imperial troops. But success turns sour when his TIE fighter unit encounters Wedge Antilles and Rogue Squadron! If he abandons his post with the Imperial fighters, he abandons the cause of the New Republic; but if he stands his ground, he risks killing his comrades. Either way this Rebel plays, he plays a losing game…
