Description

Starblazer #3                                                     Magazine
Featuring Star Trek IV, James Bond, Dune, Supergirl, Batman, Sheena, Indiana Jones, Conan the Destroyer, Starman, …and more. Awesome!!

Starblazer was a 80’s Sci-Fi movie magazine devoted to the science fiction films, television series, and fantasy/adventure books of the nostalgic past, the “buzzing” present and the anticipated future. Each issue covered, in its own crude and provocative way, various aspects of the Science Fiction, Fantasy, Adventure genre. From films, special effects, actors, animation to the stories and their creators, Star Blazer unabashedly featured the popular ladies of film (like; Tanya Roberts, Kate Capshaw, Daryl Hannah, Helen Slater, Sybil Danning, Caroline Munro among many others) in every article, along with their muscular male counterparts. (like; Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, and Roger Moore among many other). Articles on films, anticipated sequels, special effects were always accompanied with lots of movie photos and behind-the-scenes information on their creators and movie production. For a very brief 3 years, from the 1st issue of Star Blazer – The Big Movies in July 1984, to its last issue in Starblazer Special #7 in Summer 1986, Liberty Communications Inc., under Stanley Jagerman, published a total of 11 “Starblazer” magazines. The “Starblazer” title included four “Regular” issues and six “Special” Issues:

Star Blazer #1 The Big Movies July 1984
Starblazer #2 Sept 1984
Starblazer #3 Nov 1984
Starblazer #4 Jan 1985
Starblazer Special 1 Winter 1984
Starblazer Special 2 Spring 1985
Starblazer Special 3 Winter 1984
Starblazer Special 4 Summer 1985
StarBlazer Special 5 Autumn 1985</span
Starblazer Special 6 Winter 1985
Starblazer Special 7 Summer 1986

Although the Starblazer magazine was categorized as yet another “trashy tabloid of 80’s” featuring Sci-Fi Movies and the like (like Starlog, Star Invaders, Fantastic Films, American Film, Famous Monsters, Cinefantastique, Fangoria, Cinemagic, just to name a few), we who are movie lovers and Sci-Fi buffs remember these nostalgic magazines as being a staple in our movie/Sci-Fi diet. It’s a good thing to take a trip down memory lane from time to time, and these magazines are great vehicles to take you there. Search them out and enjoy. Highly Recommended!
