Starship Troopers is a 1997 American military science fiction action film directed by Paul Verhoeven and written by Edward Neumeier based on the novel by Robert A. Heinlein. Originally based on a 1959 novel by Robert Heinlein, the ongoing saga of the Starship Troopers has been expanded on and adapted in several formats, including several movies, both live-action and animated TV shows, video games, and, of course, several comic books.

Before the first intergalactic war, the human colony on Mars seems to narrowly escape an invasion by the bugs – was it a miscalculation, or just bad luck on their part? A ship of troopers is sent out to the ostensible origin of the bugs’ “ship”. It’s not a suicide mission if they make it home alive, right…?

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, It’s the story of the time before the invasion, before mankind was embroiled in battle with the insect-like creatures from another world. It’s the story of the first contact between humanity and the alien species. And of how that initial contact sparked the first intergalactic war of all time

Next in issue #2, Earth has sent its first line of defense to Klendathu, a remote planet in the far reaches of space. If their instruments are correct, this backwater planet is exhibiting signs of life. And while the scientists are debating whether or not that life would be intelligent, the crew aboard the spaceship Cortez discovers that it is, at the very least, deadly.

Finally in issue #3, The troopers of spaceship Cortez have two problems: First, their crash-landed shuttle needs some serious repairs; second, the monstrous, arachnidlike natives have finished their mating ritual and are now hungry.
