Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Cindy Knutz is Wonder Man’s biggest fan in the world! Especially after Simon saved her life while battling Red Ronin (in Avengers #198)! However, Cindy’s hero worship of Wonder Man borders upon obsession when she moves to Los Angeles after Simon joins the West Coast Avengers! Cindy hopes to meet her favorite avenger again soon through the L.A. chapter of the Wonder Man fan club! But when she hears about the breakup of the west coast team, Cindy and a friend sneak into the damaged west coast compound! And right into the middle of Wonder Man’s fight vs. the Kree (in Force Works #1)! Predictably, Cindy is heartbroken when Simon doesn’t survive the battle. Can she go on living without the Hollywood avenger in her life?

Finally in issue #2, Force Works and the Avengers hold a memorial service for Simon in Los Angeles. And graciously the super teams send two guest tickets to the L.A. chapter of the Wonder Man fan club! Cindy Knutz is excited to attend because she thinks Wonder Man is going to return in the flesh! However, her friend Bernie is reluctant to go, because she’s still depressed over Simon’s death. When Cindy arrives at the service, she is awestruck to be in the presence of super-heroes like Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America! But when Bernie doesn’t show, Cindy worries that she is in danger! Wisely, Cindy leaves the service, rushes to Bernie’s apartment, and takes her friend to the hospital! Later that evening Cindy returns to Simon’s gravesite and makes her peace with the man of wonder.
