Finally, with this late 1995 mini-series, we see the story of how Kyle Reese was sent back in time to save Sarah Connor from the Terminator. The year was 2029, and mankind was ready to wage its final battle against the machines which had turned into the unholy exterminators of all humanity.
Led by John Connor, the humans were beginning to win the war, but there remained one final task: enter the heart of the Skynet complex in Colorado and send Kyle Reese back in time to save the future. Terminator 2: Judgment Day – Nuclear Twilight (Future War) provides an epilogue to the film “Terminator 2”, weaving together the present and future timelines with a shocking resolution for both.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #0, “The programming of Fate”, John Connor and the Human Resistance race against time to destroy SKYNET in the future! Meanwhile, Sarah and John Connor fend off a deadly trio of terminators in the present!
Next in issue #1, “Warchild”, In the future, Connor struggles to win the war against the Machines. As he flashes back to the first day, he and the other survivors ascended from a fallout shelter to the first encounter with a death wielding army of terminators, John tries to piece together the rest of the game he must play to destroy Skynet.
Next in issue #2, “Suicide Mission”, The War of the Machines continues as the soldiers of the future attempt to stop the terrifying reign of Skynet. John Connor and crew try to protect the one terminator that can stop the ultimate computer from exterminating the human race!
Next in issue #3, “Dead Men Walking”, Inside the mind of the ultimate computer, Skynet! In a nano-second, Skynet attempts to devise a foolproof plan to ensure its survival on the planet. Weakened by the Human Resistance and on waning reserve power, the world’s most powerful computer fights to stay alive while John Connor and crew decide to destroy its complex.
Finally in issue #4, “Father’s Day”, John Connor and crew have infiltrated Skynet’s complex and are ready to pull the plug, but the dying machine has one last proverbial breath left, and it’s enough to threaten everything the Human Resistance has worked towards. The ultimate computer may yet exterminate the human race.
CollectibleEntertainment.com comment: Although, Terminator 2 Nuclear Twilight #0 (April 1996) issue #0, is numbered #0, it is not the prequel to the Nuclear Twilight storyline. It is actually the conclusion to the storyline…hence the latter, April 1996 publication date. Additionally, the Terminator 2 Nuclear Twilight #0 (April 1996) is a flip book w/ Terminator 2 Cybernetic Dawn #0 (April 1996). (see 3rd scan!!) The Terminator 2 Nuclear Twilight series (1995-1996) issues #0-4. is linked to the Present War timeline in Terminator 2 Cybernetic Dawn (1996) #0-4.)
