The Expendables is a 2010 American action film written by David Callaham and Sylvester Stallone, and directed by Stallone, who also starred in the lead role. The film co-stars Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Steve Austin and Mickey Rourke. The film is about a group of elite mercenaries tasked with a mission to overthrow a Latin American dictator whom they soon discover to be a mere puppet controlled by a corrupt ex-CIA agent. It pays tribute to the blockbuster action films of the late 1980s and early 1990s.

After years of corruption, murder of American hostages, and betrayal of foreign policies, the US – with the help of other Nations who secretly put together a squad of their most highly trained military personal – will finally attempt to overthrow the dictator who has caused devastation in South America for over 20 years. This is the story before the story… Featuring the skillful scripting of Chuck Dixon, the masterful art of Esteve Pols and an incredible painted cover by Lucio Parillo, Dynamite’s all-original Expendables comic features a story you won’t see on the big screen, serving as a prequel to the hottest action film of 2010!

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, After an operation to stomp out a Nigerian scammer in an unnamed country, the Expendables are again recruited for another insane mission.

Next in issue #2, After receiving a mission to track down a man who raped and murdered the daughter of a powerful man, Barney goes on a journey to assume the Expendables.

Next in issue #3, The Expendables are finally assembled and on a small ship following a lead on their target. Their lead takes them to a large party ship. After a recon session gone awry, the Expendables suit up and infiltrate the ship.

Finally in issue #4, The Expendables secure their target and have to fight overwhelming odds to escape the party ship.
