When science meddles in the affairs of the supernatural, the consequences can be disastrous. Dwight Cochran, former assassin, developed cancer in prison. After undergoing a secret procedure funded by the government that destroyed half of the prison, Dwight was reborn as The Rot. With the ability to use his cancer as a weapon, he vowed to punish the wicked and protect the innocent… no matter where he finds either of them. Heaven can’t stop him. Hell is terrified of him. Man wants to use him. Unfortunately, for all of them, The Rot answers to no one.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Waking up in a field, the thing that used to be known as Dwight Cochran rises. His memories vague, his body weak, he finds strength and lucidity after ‘feeding,’ stealing the life force of living things through prehensile dead tissues in his hair and nails. His memories return… of his work as a contract killer, his time on death row, his terminal cancer, and his zealous faith. When a maniacal government scientist performed experiments on Cochran for the military, what did they create? And how much destruction will their creation leave in its wake?

Next in issue #2, The thing that was once the man Dwight Cochran, now known as ‘The Rot,’ is leaving a plague-like trail of bodies in his wake. But he finds that he isn’t alone in the world, as the residents of Bum Town rally to his side. Meanwhile, the CDC is on his tail as Heaven itself activates an avatar of The Rot’s destruction. The world comes crashing.

Finally in issue #3, The Rot gets a visit from a mysterious stranger, just before the newly awakened Templar comes to Bumtown to destroy him. Agent Miller of the CDC catches up with the Rot as well, and a final showdown of epic proportions takes place.
