These collected ink sketches were created especially for the Hoffman aficionados who’d purchased one or both of the artist’s books “Sorceress” volumes one and two. Astonishingly, many of these remarkably spontaneous pieces were drawn completely without the aid of any preliminary pencil sketching whatsoever. There are certainly no safety nets working this way; an artist is immediately thrown back upon his or her knowledge of the human figure, and that is all. It’s a virtuoso feat of daring, for few modern draftsman can produce such startlingly confident and perfectly realized works as featured in this first collection you hold in your hand – book one of The Sorceress Sketches!
