Jim Corrigan – the Spectre – is back. Fifty years ago, Corrigan was a cop, lured out to the docks one night on a tip from a two-bit snitch named Louis Snipe. The trap was then sprung, and Corrigan was sealed in a drum full of cement and thrown into the river to drown. And that he did. Fifty years ago, Jim Corrigan died – and the Spectre was born. A ghost who walks the earth bringing fear to the hearts of criminals, the Spectre was one of the original otherworldly super-heroes.

Before his brutal gangland slaying turned him into the ghostly seeker of vengeance known as the Spectre, Jim Corrigan was a tough-as-nails plainclothes cop in the blood-spattered 1930s. Catching the bad guy was his only concern, and guilt or innocence was something for the courts or God to decide! Now…the Spectre still walks the Earth. Jim Corrigan is the focus for the anger of unavenged murder victims and doesn’t care if evildoers repent, only that they are punished! When he discovers that the criminal he faces in the first issue is the man who murdered Jim Corrigan fifty years earlier, the Spectre’s vengeance is fearsome to behold!

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, “Crimes of Violence”, The Spectre starts out his new series investigating what role Louis Snipe had in his own murder as Jim Corrigan. His investigation takes him to a hospital where he meets Amy Beitermann. Amy notices Jim change into the Spectre outside the hospital during a drive-by. This leads her to find out more about Jim. Meanwhile Jim kills the thugs who committed the drive by. He then goes back to the Hospital to find the truth about Louis. When he finds out he shows Louis his own empty soul that kills him.

In the Side Story, A regular guy who works close to Amy is secretly the serial killer known as the Reaver. He shows up at Sally Hendrickson’s home for a blind date and it is very awkward for her. Her awkwardness turns into a nightmare when he pulls out a knife and kills her.
