Thicker Than Blood Comics – Art by comics legend Mike Ploog (Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing, Ghost Rider) and fully painted by Simon Bisley (Slaine, Lobo, Judge Dredd). Mike Ploogs previous experience with werewolf content combined with the gorgeous, painted art by Simon Bisley makes for an excellent installment into the ever-growing lycanthrope genre. This is a tragic tale of two brothers being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and how their lives were changed forever. The human spirit is thicker than blood, and this is their tale!
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1A, Two brothers on a trek across Scotland find themselves faced with more than just a stroll across the Highlands. After travelling for miles, lost in the mist, they chance upon shelter not knowing what lay before them. The darkness descends and the moon rises, an invitation for all manner of creatures!
Next in issue #2A, With Andrew now gone, Eric concentrates his efforts on finding a cure for opium addiction only to find the tonic has unusual side effects. Now, he must wrestle with his own inner demons as he fights a change within, taken over by a purpose that is singular and all-consuming.
Finally in issue #3A, Eric is desperate – he has lost everything and Andrew is roaming Scotland getting angrier and hairier. Andrew’s wife has gone off to find him now that she has discovered his whereabouts, unbeknownst to her of the danger she faces. Meanwhile, the local priest who holds the villagers in his thrall has brought new life to an old-fashioned witch hunt following Andrew’s trail. Eric must decide what the best course of action is and how to warn his brother.
