Description

The Tick: Heroes of the City                  Comics Lot

What would The Tick be without his supporting cast? This ongoing series presents various short stories focusing on different members of the big blue hero’s universe, as well as The Tick himself. Included are tales spotlighting sidekick Arthur, who attempts to discover if he can fight crime independently; Myndi, a cheerleader who thwarts criminals by deflecting bullets with her pompoms; and The Tick, who experiences the oft-humbling life of a sidekick himself.

As is typical of other similar titles featuring Ben Edlund’s characters, humor is the main focus of this anthology series. According to the creators the series’ goal is to focus on “more offbeat episodes,” but when it comes to The Tick, it’s all relative. A variety of different writers and artists contribute to this black-and-white, bimonthly title. Published by New England Comics Press.
