Featuring Timber Wolf of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 20th Century. In a faraway future, Brin’s father wanted him to become a man quickly, so he pumped Brin full of chemicals. The chemicals hurt, but made Brin strong and swift, and allowed him to become a Legionnaire. Then Brin met Aria, a twelve-year-old in a woman’s body. She transported him one thousand years back to our time and turned him into Timber Wolf. Side effects of the time travel include an ever-raging anger that Timber Wolf struggles to contain, and an almost feral, wolf-like form. The fur flies when the Wolf fights, although he’s capable of compassion and curiosity as well. Outside of this five-issue mini-series, Timber Wolf is also known from his exploits with The Legion of Super-Heroes.
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Timber Wolf, the rough-and-tumble beast-man whose heart is in the right place…even if the rest of him usually isn’t. Set in the 20th century, Timber Wolf is a hard-hitting action-adventure story about our hero’s encounter with Thrust, a new character with a major streak of ultra-violence! You’ll also meet Point Force, a government-sanctioned group of paranormals, who can’t, at first, decide whether to incarcerate Timber Wolf or recruit him.
Next in issue #2, Still out of sync in the 20th century, Timber Wolf is escorted by Thrust to the ‘Gene Pool,’ a bar patronized by meta-humans where, instead of refreshments and relaxation, they find a rumble led by a paramilitary patriot named Captain Flag.
Next in issue #3, Timber Wolf’s appearance in the 20th century hasn’t gone unnoticed…except he’s been mistaken for the Creeper. So, Jack Ryder travels to San Francisco to investigate, leading to an all-out battle between the Creeper and Timber Wolf.
Next in issue #4, Adjusting to the 20th century has been tough enough, but not nearly as tough as a lunar eclipse that affects Timber Wolf during a cataclysmic battle with Captain Flag!
Finally in issue #5, Everything comes together in the conclusion of this miniseries as Timber Wolf goes head-to-head with the deadly Dominators. But first, he must deal with a fearsome physical change and battle the power-enhanced Captain Flag.
