The Prime Directive miniseries takes place after the Autobots had attempted to leave Earth for a second time in a space ship called the Ark II, along with the defeated Decepticons. The Ark II was sabotaged, exploding in the upper atmosphere and sending all the Transformers falling back to Earth, deactivated. The story concerns the reactivation of the Transformers by a scheming entrepreneur and the results when things don’t go as planned.

Story/Spoilers
In part #1, Long thought dead by the inhabitants of Earth, we discover that the classic metal warriors of Generation 1 are far from gone. But where have they been for so long, and why only now have they chosen to return? And who is the mysterious man called Lazarus and what is his plan?

Next in part #2, The mysterious man known only as Lazarus continues to extend his secret project – and to dangerous ends. Is there anyone… anything that can help challenge this new global threat? Indeed there is… and his name is Optimus Prime! But first he’ll need to find a few old friends to help him on his way. Only, can he find them in time?

Next in part #3, Optimus Prime is back, but so is his arch-nemesis Megatron. Reunited with his Decepticon followers, Megatron begins an evil scheme that, if successful, will leave Earth and all humanity in ruins. What is this sinister plan and are the Autobots even strong enough to begin to fight it? Also, Spike is drawn into a mystery he’s not sure he wants to solve… who knows where it will lead him!

Next in part #4, Megatron’s sinister plan continues to unfold, putting the entire world at risk! Can Prime and the Autobots stop him, especially when the pandemonium gets worse because of the Devastator? What happens when Prime’s most loyal soldiers refuse to fight?

Next in part #5, With Optimus Prime left for dead and the world on the brink of collapse, the battered and beaten Autobot warriors must battle on against the evil Decepticons! Can they stop Megatron’s evil cyber-virus before it is too late?

Finally in part #6, Can Optimus Prime and the Autobots stop Megatron’s evil plan in time? And what will they have to sacrifice to do it?
