“A city the size of a country, a world unto itself, a land of shadows and strange light: could be confused with hell. A city filled with life and death, you say that’s not unique but when the dead are walking, no entry you may seek. But you are always welcome, they never lock the gate. Just walk right in, I’m sure you’ve sinned. It’s time to meet your fate…”
This is the world of “Vampyre Wars”. A grim, futuristic reality of science and steel that spans for hundreds of miles in each direction. This alternate reality Earth is inhabited by ghosts, demons, angels, werewolves, vampires and humans. It is Adam’s eternal prison, for his punishment stretches far beyond his eviction from Eden. He is to forever watch the downfall of the “human empire”. Much of this world is based on authentic vampire mythos.
This copy of the comic features a strange printing error. The comic appears to have two front covers and two back covers. The first front cover functions as an outside layer, with the second front cover being inside when the first page is turned.
Story/Spoilers
In “The Blood Factory”, Adam, the first man created, is in search of a deep, dark evil. His journey takes him to the Vampires Only Sector, where he is quickly stopped by a group of angry vampires. He asks to be taken to a vampire named Fene, only to be attacked by the vampires. He tortures one into guiding him to Fene. Fene reveals that a different creature named Ruthven is the one that Adam should actually be pursuing. As he reenters the streets, a giant that serves a vampire named Varney approaches him. Adam meets with him and Varney reveals that Fene is selling human blood. It is affecting Varney’s profits from his business that sells synthetic blood. The two team up to take down Fene. After getting valuable information off the streets, the two discover an immense blood factory. Adam is taken aback at the sight of humans strung up in vats. Fene appears and a fight breaks out. Varney kills Fene and Adam has to break free from the grip of a Horla, an invisible psychic vampire. After besting it, him and Varney free the humans. Adam blows up the blood factory and heads off into the night.
