This title introduces War Party and Dreadwolf… in full color! War Party is an ultraviolent, ultracool mercenary-for-hire who, in his debut story, takes down the bad guys and disrupts the performance of an opera. Dreadwolf is a werewolf-with-a-heart-of-gold feature; he’s savage, but only when pursued by bad guys. This anthology title introduces the “Lightning Universe”!

Roger Sullivan goes to the opera to fulfill an assassination assignment. He completes the mission and meets up with the men who hired him. The men backstab him and prepare to execute him in an alley. He manages to escape the grasp of the man holding him and the proceeds to kill all of them. He takes the money they owed him and steals their car.

Douglas Reagan dreams about his meeting (as Dreadwolf) with the Forest Nymph. In his dream, he kills a man who is harassing the Forest Nymph. He then sees another man tied up in a tree. The Nymph whispers something cryptic to him and the dreams ends.
