Description

WildB.r.a.t.s (Bad Redundant Art Teams)                One-shot Comic
Featuring a Parody Cover of WildC.A.T.s: Covert Action Teams (1992) Issue #1A after Jim Lee & Scott Williams from Image Comics.
Co-Creators: Lee Paik & Brian HO
Writer: Dean Williams
Artist: Mike Manley
Letterer: Gil Jordan
Editor: Gary Groth
Cover by: Bill Willingham, Roberta Gregory, Jim Lee & Scott Williams

Idjit Comics presents a spoof on the Image artists themselves. Called “WildB.R.A.T.s” (a takeoff on Jim Lee’s WildC.A.T.s— except here, the initials stand for “Bad Redundant Art Teams”), it’s a hilarious jab at an easily named group of prima donna artists who pursue stardom and megabucks while stretching the simplest story elements into over-illustrated novellas. Whether you’re an Image Comics admirer or a critic, you shouldn’t miss WildB.R.A.T.s. Gloriously presented in Black & White! Awesome!!

Story/Spoilers
The story is NOT a parody of WildC.A.T.s: Covert Action Teams the superhero team created by artist Jim Lee and writer Brandon Choi, but rather a parody of how the Image creators left Marvel Comics and then set up the same work for hire system which they themselves claimed to abhor. From the comic, “Now these snot-nose kids (new writers & artists) come along… and make a name for themselves and then take off to do their own “beep” because they want creative rights!!” Hey Erik Larsen, Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Todd McFarlane, Whilce Portacio, Marc Silvestri, & Jim Valentino… does that sound familiar?

Comic is bagged & double boarded and will be carefully / securely packaged then shipped via USPS Priority Mail to ensure that it arrives to you perfectly and quickly.

First Printing
Publisher: Idjit Comics / Fantagraphics
Publication Date: October 1992
Format: BW, 32 pages, Comic, 10.20″ x 6.65″
UPC: None Stated

Collectible Entertainment note: One-shot Comic is in Very Fine to Very Fine + condition.  Beautiful!  Please See Scans!!  A must have for any serious Wild C.a.t.s, Parody and/or Image Comics collector / enthusiast.  A fun & entertaining read.  Highly Recommended.
