Zombie War: Earth Must be Destroyed! is a four-issue mini-series that is a sequel to the “Zombie War” (1992) two-issue mini-series. In that series, an alien being took revenge on Earth by raising its military dead and turning them into an army of zombies. These zombies spread destruction everywhere, until the alien was induced to create Cytoxin, a formula which destroys the zombies. Oh, and New York City had to be nuked as well. All presented in Glorious Black & White!
Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Now, years later, the alien, a human pilot named Jina Lee, and a squad of warriors have been given the duty of searching down and destroying the remaining zombies. Their efforts are being undermined, however, by the Cyton corporation — the company with the exclusive rights to producing Cytoxin. Sales for the toxin were in the trillions of dollars, but at the same time Cyton was producing Cytoxin, it was also busy reversing the formula to allow them to create their own zombies. These zombies were being unleashed deliberately, further driving up the sales of Zytoxin!
Features Gold Foil Title – New & Sealed – w/ “Zombie War” Trading Card! Awesome!!
Next in issue #2, Jina and Spud have lead a crack military team to hunt down the last remaining zombies. Unknown to them, Sy Ravenwood, head of Cyton corporation has begun a takeover of the government. Ravenwood has been planting artificial zombies across the country to heighten fear, and schemes to put an end to Spud, the only other being on Earth capable of producing Cytoxin, the one chemical that can truly end the zombies re-generation process. Meanwhile, the team has been tracking a massive sighting of zombie flesh. During the team’s investigation the creature absorbed one team member and was preparing to do the same to Jina as she ordered Spud to nuke the sight and take the creature out virtually insuring her own death. Two hours have passed…
Next in issue #3, Sy Ravenwood and Cyton corporation have taken control of the government and flooded the country with Zomans, a form of synthetic zombie. Jina was nearly killed by a nuclear explosion intended for the Emperor Zombie but was saved by the Autmo-Ria, a mild meld with the alien known as Spud. Because of this, Jina has developed mysterious powers. Jina and crew have declared war on Cyton and the current form of government, but not before they are attacked by the army resulting in the death on another one of their team. The Emperor Zombie escaped and has invaded Cyton’s Labs and abducted the greedy scientist Lawrence Shelby. Three days have passed…
Finally in issue #4, Jina and Spud have sought out the aid of Professor Jones, head of the space program, while Santo and Dobbs were investigating a zombie sighting. There they witnessed the return of the Zombie Master. Dobbs was forced to flee to warn the others and get help leaving Santo at the mercy of the Zombie Master and the Mystic Zombie. Santo was transformed into the War-Hound a powerful slave of the Zombie Master. While returning to save Santo and confront the Emperor Zombie our heroes were attacked and Jina was absorbed. Minutes have passed…
