All Covers by: Gary Erskine

It’s been a year since Conchita’s death in the Punisher’s last war with the Kingpin. As an anniversary present, the Punisher has been hitting the Kingpin’s operations with unprecedented ferocity. Most recently, he took down one of the Kingpin’s South American operations, and slew his chief assassin.

Now, the Kingpin decides it’s time to cut his losses. He recruits Pierce and his Reavers to take out the Punisher once and for all. But, as fate would have it, the Reavers are currently engaged in a battle to take down the X-Men’s Wolverine. After defeating one of those high-tech mercenaries, Wolverine learns of the contract out on the Punisher and decides to come to his aid. Thus it’s all the more surprising to him when he discovers that “the Punisher” is not the man he seemed to be when last they met in “Hearts of Darkness”.

Story/Spoilers
In issue #1, Has the Punisher gone loco? Wolverine thinks so and aims to stop him from slaughtering innocent people. Don’t miss the return of much missed Punisher villains, Sniper and Damage, in a blockbuster story from Carl Potts. It’s chaos from page one when Wolverine is under the impression that the Punisher is one bullet short of a full clip. Wolverine and Punisher, both working their own cases, wind up coming at Kingpin’s operations from different leads. The Kingpin procures Reaver technology from Donald Pierce and transforms his agent, Damage, into a pseudo-Punisher to go out and wreck Frank’s reputation.

Next in issue #2, Wolverine and the Punisher go at it! Wolverine doesn’t know that Frank’s been framed, and deals out his own special brand of justice when the Punisher’s accused of a series of brutal murders. Erskine’s artwork is incredibly detailed, while veteran Punisher writer Carl Potts crams this series with the hard-hitting action Punisher and Wolverine fans crave. On orders from the Kingpin, Damage is impersonating the Punisher and killing innocent people which is ticking Frank off something fierce. Wolverine is tracking the Punisher to get to the bottom of the murders but ends up facing Damage who mows him down.

Finally in issue #3, Don’t miss the final issue of this slash-happy, bullet-blasting series! Frank and Logan go head-to-head wild style with Sniper and the revamped Damage, and somebody is reduced to hamburger meat! Wolverine and Frank take on Damage and put an end to the Kingpin’s fake Punisher. Failing to kill the Punisher according to their deal, Kingpin is forced to pay Donald Pierce fifty million dollars for using Reaver technology in his plot.
